i really with you for originality but on reality... the whole thins is just not practical...
imho...
i know it has been sugested before so ill write it again.. you may want to use the rrm downpipe and start from there... at the long run the whole custom job may be as expensive as a already done system...

you may want to use the rrm downpipe they also sell a high flow cat with the flanges i dont know if it is so but that "could bolt" to it instead of putting antifoulers you can use the o2 sensor (the wire is quite long trust me on that) and start from that cat (central pipe would shorter than stock) and then make a custome axleback and so on...
if no cat well rrm downpipe and go from there....
what you think?

The high flow cat that RRM sells is just a magnaflow cat. A good true high flow cat would run $600+ CND. The downpipe from RRM sell for $280 something USD shipped and converted to Canadian funds that runs me close to $400 and it throws a cel. The exhaust has already been quoted at $450 CND the only thing stopping me is the o2 simulator and the fear of losing back pressure. The custom set up I was quoted on includes a custom downpipe, removing the cat(s), mid pipe, resonator, and axel back. All in 2.5" piping.

The issue is not the price or what is already available the issue is o2 simulators and is freeing up the exhaust on an NA car going to create more damage then good. I'm a little curious as to how you lost 15hp with your set-up. How big was your piping?

I wonder if the 2.5" custom catback I made is losing power. It is pressbends so probably not horrible but still.

Well I would say 2.5" pressbend would go down to 2.25" in some areas so I mine as well say it is a 2.25" exhaust. Although the bends are not more than 45deg in any area so the pressbends are not all that bad anyways.

If I already have the RRM axleback, will I have to get rid of it if I ever wanted to go for a full catback system? Could I use the RRM axleback?

so the RRM dp is 2.25 and the axle back is 2.5? wouldnt it make more sense to keep it all the same size?

The factory pipes are about 2.25 outer diameter/about 2.00-2.15 inner diameter (i guess it also depends on the wall thickness but dont know ). I went to a muffler shop and test-fitted 2.00 muffler and afterwards a 2.25 muffler. The 2.25 fitted over the stock pipe while the 2.00 matched it.

But I have a question since you all have very different results; I always thought that catbacks are supposed to create "scavenging effect" which would mean to have very low backpressure if at not at all, which would then mean low pressure (in order to create the vacuum i.e. scavenge effect). I know going too big isnt good because the engine wouldnt flow as much gasses and it would create turbulence inside the pipes, but that wouldnt mean loosing too much backpressure cause they´re 2 different things. So is this right or have I been thinking wrongly all this time??? Any info on that will be more than welcomed
