Question downpipe with cel eliminator not working

A little more then 2 weeks ago, i installed an RRM downpipe with cel eliminator.. not check engine ligh, sweet instal,, nice product. Today, driving on the HWY, surprise..a bright CEL.. how can i reset the system to turn this off? is there a way without having to go to the dealer?

I know there are all kinds of threads for cel's, I think I read most of them and there are all kinds of fixes, I'd like to know one that realy works.

Thxs

You can reset it by unplugging your battery for about 15 minutes. It should go off after that. If you want to completely earse the code you would have to hook it up to the diag machine though.

So a 5 minute unplug will not do, it really needs to be at least 15 minutes?

you can turn off the light in 10 sec i do it for my car since i think my car is still running lean... another thing is that did you put the CEL eliminator in the second bung? not the one on the DP but on the actual i guess you would call the "cat back"?

you can go to any autoparts chain to pull an error code or to erase one from the obdII system. I think I will post this info in the newb thread, since I have posted this like ten or so times since I have joined here

Whats the secret to doing this in 10 sec's?

I have the 2 sensors hoocked up, 1st one in the dp and 2 one after where the cat was using a cel eliminator.

I think RRM might have sent the wrong one.

Go to Autozone and use there check engine light tool, you can clear all codes with that.

try advance autoparts. i wouldn't take it to the dealer, cause they may get pissy with your warrenty since the downpipe is legal. my cel is thrown to and i just ordered the cel eliminator. i hope it works cause i'm tired of seeing that orange light.

well there are only two sensors like you said. there is one where you have to remove from the cat to put on ur DP. then there is the second one not on the DP. put the CEL Eliminator in that one. connect the sensor in the CEL Eliminator and put it in the second hole where its supposed to be. since obviously you dont have a cat you put it in the second sensor so the ecu thinks that there is a cat by eliminating some of the exaust gas for the sensor to read. i think there are pics in the How To forum to show where it goes. and for the ten seconds... just try it! you can eliminate the CEL light and dont have to change your preset radio stations, you do though, have to reset your clock.

thats how its set up.. worked for 3 weeks..

I was fedup of seeing the light, 2 days and i can't stand it anymore. I went to the dealer to get it checked out, and yup.. its cel for the missing cat. they reset it. should be good for 3 more weeks.

good thing is my dealer and most of the mechanics there races evo's.. they are use to seeing aftermarket downpipes and missing cat's

they recomended another cel eliminator and a highflow axcelback
