My way of normally fixing a squeaky belt would be take a bar of soap and hold it on the belt while the car is running...be careful not to let ur hand slip or oops you're missing a finger but this is how I do...kind of the same concept of belt dressing but just a little something that is laying around the house...you know...

Only time mine has made some noise was after driving on a really wet tropical night...maybe 1 or 2 inches on the road...doing 10-20mph on a empty parking area. Lots of water splash & fun testing my BF G-force sports: got the belt noise for 2 days...it is gone now!

There's a how-to in the DIY section.

duralast is fairly good, thats wat rrm sent me...i wouldnt recommend lubing the belt up, if you do youll prob have some probs down the road. its best just to get a good belt n leave it as is.

If you can't install the belt then you really are challenged. and I don't mean just mechanically.

and +1 to RRM not helping, it makes absolutely no sense to expect them too. It's a belt, and it's squealing. Now if the pulley explodes, yeah, call RRM.

there is not enough tension on the belt for it to cause damage to something in the system, not to mention the belt would disintegrate before metal would bend.

Nice!

You could always go with a Goodyear belt. They're probly one of the best.

the head mech at mitsu told me that about 70% of the pully kits installed from rrm in my area have ended up squeeling...he said its caused by sand dirt etc really anything gritty and there are alot of really ****ty and grid roads around here which would make sense for the high number...i myself have had no probs but almost all my drivivng is done in the city
