Is our throtle body heated?
I purchased a $1.00 coupler and some .87 cent hose clamps. Took me about a half an hour (I'm slow) but pretty easy to do. Don't know if I can feel any difference at all but I'm happier knowing my TB isn't heated any longer.

Well after driving around in the summer heat (99-101 degrees), I think I can tell the difference. It's not really so much when I'm at WOT, but it seems to accelerate at half throttle, or when I'm just city driving if that makes sense. I haven't had the chance to put it on the freeway yet so dunno about that.

And I live in Canada...We commonly see -30 Celcius here in AB.
And well if I'm wrong, I guess I'm wrong and I will appologize.
The trick to ice not bothering the tb is the way it's mounted, it should be mounted so that the seals/bearings/shaft are horizontal.
Carb's are a whole different beast then tb's.
Here's a pic of the xr for reference (the tb is the part on the engine side of the blakc rubber hose, it's got 2 electrical connections and then the cruise cable attached to it)

this has become somthing very interesting to me i didnt see that on the RA i ve seen it before just not on the RA ehteway i will for fun and maby a bit of performance be making a coolant system with this, ill take pics and also will make a spacer for the tb, ill keep you guys posted. possibly make it cool the CAI aswell. just to see if its worth having it on there for now. i live in SW FL so freezing is not a problem.
SO I DID IT, seems to work really well, ill make the DIY if anyone wants, havent had the time to test it i just got done with it but all systems check ill see if i feel a difference and a bigger diff with super cold water and some other liquids, wasnt very hard but i bypassed my washer pump and made it on a switch so now the tank for that is on a closed system with the pump circulating it all.
Interesting read, they throw wind chill into the mix.
