Question stock RA needs some MODS

I want to do pully, CAI and Piggy. I would like to stay away from exhaust, cops are turnin' into ***** in Canada when it comes to performance Mods to "cut down on street racing." So i was wondering how much power will i lose by not doin' an exhaust??? thx.

you will actually save power by not doing the exhaust.....i imaging having exhaust with wider diameter reduces the power.

well our pipes are 2.25 stock.. and the catback RRM sells and other companies sell is 2.25 just has less bends and flows better... so essentially with a carback you'll loose some low end tq, but if you got a SRI to compliment it wouldn't you regain what you lost if not more, and also have the high end tq from the exhaust?? Correct me if i'm wrong.. i'm just trying to figure out my setup..

There's really no reason to touch the catback exhaust on the RA, that part of it is fine. What needs help is the downpipe area. A downpipe plus highflow cat would give you gains without affecting noise levels. A downpipe without that highflow cat will sound like crap.

Sounds like a resonable combo. Guess if you are worried about cop, sneak in a ported intake manifold too. They will never know anything. Even the dealer won't know if you don't paint it! You will feel the difference.

Next up on my list is the piggy, now only if RRM would drop on the price. I'm poor and $460+ shipping is kinda rough for me. It'll just take a little time of saving up, then i'll have the combo your going after. I hope i'll be satisfied with performance mods (prob not) and can pay off the car fast. Give an update when you have the combo, i'd like to know what i can look forward to.

so the headers and high flow cat won't make my car much louder????? 'cause that would be awsome. How much power increase are we talkin' with RRM's header downpipe combo?
Thanx for the advice!!!

It will be louder, especially under WOT, but it won't wake the neighbors if you are just cruising. I have the dp and high flow cat (have recently added muffler) and those two make the stock muffler rattle a bit under WOT. I got pulled over for "*******" my car next to a state trooper. I was in fact at like 1/4 throttle in 2nd gear around 4k rpms which should tell you to go light on the throttle and low on the tach if the cops are around. No ticket, probably would have gotten one if I had the exhaust.

That ranks up there with the stupidest things I've ever heard of. Cop must have been looking for a reason to pull you over.

He kind of was. I came off an exit ramp at the street speed limit as he was passing maybe 10 carlengths in front of me. He didn't even get behind me or acknowledge me until my brother looked over at him in the other lane as we were passing him under the above mentioned conditions. I guess he thought I was messing with him. Too bad I wasn't under WOT, at least then I would have felt a little better about getting pulled over. I told him that I had some aftermarket stuff done to my car and he said that he had been driving since before I was born. What a *****.

SRI has little better low end power than the CAI.

if your worried about noise just get 20+ inch resonator, bigger the better.. a local muffler shop will do it for 50 or less.
