How long did you have the AEM on before it started acting up? Did it do it right away or did you clean and oil the filter before it did it? A lot of people tend to over oil the filter which then gathers on the sensor and gives false readings. Before you replace the next sensor try to clean it first to see if that does the trick.

How long did you have the intake on before you had to replace the sensor. I don't think the flange for the sensor is too big. If it was you wouldn't be able to bolt it down. The only other thing I can think of is that the sensor is getting some funny readings because of the size that the intake pipe is. Also, did you push the filter on the end of the intake until it stopped moving and then clamped it down or did you just put it on the end and then clamped it down? You only want to have it clamped to the end of the pipe and not pushed all the way onto it. What did they say was wrong with the sensor? I'm just curious because everything that you said shouldn't ruin the sensor, especially if it worked when you put it back to stock. What are the symptoms of the car? Does it just not run with the AEM intake on, does it run rough, or does it just throw a CEL?

the intake can be on for a month running perfect iwth no issues,, then the sensor will go,the last time it went when i down shifted to pass and it just shut right off,,,,the check engine light will come on with irratic idling and the rev limiter will kick in at 4000rpm,,,,hense a major loss of power,,,umm,,i put the filter on the end not all the way,,,the dealership cant see why either but they say its because of the flange size,,,although there is a good fit i think their full of it,,,any tips or ideas about how to solve this issue or maybe is there a way to bypass the sensor in anyway would be great,,,,thanks to all replies,,,

Hmm, that seems weird. I'm not sure why it would run good for awhile and then just crap out like that. If it's acting up right now you should try to reset your ECU and see if it starts acting normal again. If that doesn't work, I would say try a different intake to see if that helps. You could always use your stock intake hose and just attach the cone filter to the end of it.

a faster way is disconnect the battery, and hold down on the brake for 10 seconds and then reconect the battery, doing so will drain any leftover charge in the car.
