i agreed to chance it and the shop ground it to 260thou... everything seems fine but requires some getting used to (i've been driving with a slipping clutch for the past 10k). removed the restrictor for the slave as well which seems to have freshened up the pedal feel... besides that the clutch feels vey streetable for a stage3.

i'm using clutchmasters stage 3... $371 from wwww.mitsubishipartsstore.com. downside to the carbon/kevlar facings is the 500 mile stop and go break in period.

Wish all the manufacturers would set standards for the stages. Works stage 2 = clutchmasters stage 3. Clutchmasters stage 4 (4 or 6 puck) = RRM stage 3. Blah.

i can't recall off the top of my head.. the spec book was for vehicles up to and including 2007 models, but there was no specific listing for the 4g69... just 2.4L mitsu specs.

Wow a carbon material is awesome for that price for the RA. The sweet thing about carbon is the hotter you get the clutch the better it grabs. WHen cold it might handle 1/2 of the power it is rated at.

Did you snap any pictures before you installed?

i had my camera on hand but after the delay at the machine shop, we were just too eager to get everything back together as it was getting pretty late and we had to be at work early the next morning... the facings on the clutch disc were worn down to the rivets. pressure plate had a fair share of hot spots, but for the most part it was in fair shape.

Bumping this for two reasons. First, the OP's question wasn't answered, and that'd be handy information for me. I can't find the specs in the manual. Secondly, anybody know if our flywheel is stepped or flat?

Based on the picture on the RRM website there is only dowel pins, otherwise it is a flat flywheel. Should cost about $30 to machine. Typical specs to machnine a flywheel usually just involve a couple thousandaths unless it is warped, which should not be your case.

I figured it was flat. I'm more curious about just how much can be safely taken off, according to factory specs. I've got an extra flywheel on the way, too.

I think, as a general rule for any clutch, is 500 miles of city driving.

Im really not trying to throw this OT but i seen these posts an i had to ask.
I looked on that site an the clutches are considerably cheaper than RRM.
Do you think the clutch masters stage 1 would be on par with RRMs stage 1?
Im boosted an i dont drag but i dont want a clutch thats going to burn out fast.
Thanks
