I don't think anyone has looked into that. My guess is no, because if that ECU would work, Mitsu would've used it instead of putting money into developing a new ECU.

That'd be a lot of wiring to redo, too, and I don't think that ECU is capable of controlling the 4G69's MIVEC (different from the 4G63 MIVEC)

Yeah, we have a few more wires than them. Forgot about the extra stuff for the remote throttle control, too.

So OpenECU hasn't hacked the Ralliart ecu yet? Bummer... I'm looking forward to a swap in the next year...hopefully we could get them to take a look at it. I would guess getting around the variable timing would be a little more difficult...but think how sweet it would be to tune that as well! Is the 4G94 supported by them? If so I could start screwing around with stuff on the dyno here at school.

I don't know that it hasn't been.. Only that anyone who might have done it successfully isn't being very open and discussing it.

I will be experimenting shortly with this, but just a gut feeling is the IX ECU will be the closest as it has dual MIVEC maps and only utilises one of them. I had often just assumed the second MIVEC map was for the V6's but now I am wondering if its not part of the 4G69 control as well. The thing you have to remember about any auto manufacturer (even high end ones) is they always gravitate to the lowest common denominator. They will never spend more money than they have to on a car because it means less profit. The same chip can be used in 4 different makes of car, the software can be completely interchangeable between certain years (LS1 small blocks and Duramaxes share the same chip and software for instance) and models.

MJ-I kind of think that if anyone had been successful they would have sold/traded the information as soon as they had a buyer. The fact that no one has come forth tends to lead to the Occham's Razor of tuning.

Although I tend to agree with you about that..

my conspiracy theory brain thinks that if it was extracted, the person extracting it would need a proper definition. So my consipiracy theory is that it was extracted and their figuring it out for their own profit. LOL
