Sri Rrm 4g69

hey,
i know this has been covered prolly a million times, but when i went to search for a tut or just a general guide to look over i didnt find anything and plus this is a short writeup of my first MOD!!!1!!one!

i ordered a few part from rrm, bulk buy to save postage(australia) - sri, pulley and tie bar.
said on the tracking thing that it would come on the second(2nd) of april which was on monday and im like SWEET!!! so i the day of uni and waited around all day and 5pm comes and no delivery, so im like wtf, check the tracking bs and its in aus but at the post office or something being processed, and then i realise that its being delived through usps and fedex which is american an u guys are like ~16 hours behind so im like crap wasted a day staring out the window getting my hopes up everytime i heard a engine noise up my street that could be the courier ... so i assumed it was coming on tuesday, which it didnt, anyways it came on wednesday(today) YAY! and i was sooo excited it was like christmas except with ugly wrapping paper (nice packaging rrm :P )

so i didnt have time to do all the installs but i put my SRI on(auto trann :S)
and it sounds beasty, sounds like a supercharged v6 or a small 5ltr v8 or something at WOT(wide open throttle) and i got scared that it might be leaking or something so checked and double checked over and over, everything was tight and secured so i took my dad for a spin and said it was fine

it frees alot of space in the engine bay - now i can take that drug smuggling job i always wanted ...

had also another scared tho, coz i had it in nutral and it donest get that deep sound as when under load and was revving a bit and the exhaust mani started a small orange glow, i took a photo but the flash washed it out.

oh and when doing an install make sure the engine has cooled ENOUGH!, coz i left it for like an hour or so with hood open and went to install it and was getting the stock box off and was looking at the screws and put my hand on top of the (i think) valve cover where it says mivec and it was friggen hot! ...

also what was a ***** when taking the snorkel intake off the stock box it was a lil stuck so i gave it a pull and the screws flew up with the lil plastic thing that hold them and i lost 3/4 in the engine somwhere but i think it sounded like they just fell to the bottom tray/pan thing, its been driven and no probs

anyways whats next, hopefully is the pully over easter!!!

giddy as an excited school girl
-Steven

ps heres installed pics

Strange to see the brake and clutch hydraulics on the right side of the engine bay, instead of the left.

Clutch upper hydraulic line looks a LOT easier to get to on the RHD cars.

I was wondering why it looked a bit off...

Also stEVOx that hose on the left side of the filter in the first picture has a piece of metal holding the hose in place. Put something to cover the metal bracket (you'll find it if you take the filter off o well its there on my car the us version). the bracket if making contact will rub a hole into the filter like it did on mines.

Also this part is an amazing part, one of my favorite mods i've done to my car. Its easy to install/remove and it has some great gains. Plus it sounds nice.. haha

hey, i dont quite get/ see what u mean with the rubbing part, maybe it looks it in the pic, but when i check my engine the only part that touches a lil is the battery, the rest has a few millimetres clearance from the other hoses,
but if u could, maybe use paint or something to circle the part/area u mean.

The pulley should take you less than an hour, including taking pics...
