RRM Header, worth it?

Alright, my buddy is looking for his next mod on his RA, he already has the full RRM CBE, and is looking at the RRM header, mostly b/c his current one almost has a hole knocked in it. So i wanna know, is it worth the $500 for the header?

Also, he is considering getting the UDP and SRI(way too much water round here for a CAI) instead, but we're trying to figure out what would yield the best power.

I won't tell you to search, since you are helping your buddy, but you need to tell your buddy to search. I have a friend who relies on me for all his car info, and he doesn't do squat to his car unless I am involved another way to say it is nothing has been done to his car in awhile

if he has the CBE, and no intake mods, he is wasting money on the header AT THIS TIME. he would be better off going with SRI and pulley. when he gets the header/dp/high flow cat(he better run a cat, this isn't a race car I assume) he will need to look into fuel control, as you are sacrificing power (wasting money, in other words) if you don't tune the car with so many breathing mods.

Cj98 is correct, out stock tune is very rich from , so getting a piggyback fuel controller first is another option. that way, you will get the most out of ALL the mods on the car, no matter what order you buy them.

piggyback FTW!
Just like the others have said an open exhaust is a waste if you don't have the intake setup to allow air to actually get in. I say wait on the dp/header combo and get the SRI (I love mines and its a breeze to take in/out). Then have him save up for the piggy, which is on sale for 399 right now.

Ya take that money that he woulda spent on the header and buy the piggy through RRM that is for sale now. IIRC its like $399.00, I'm lazy so I'm not looking in marketplace myself but its there and easy to find. Then take the extra cash and either get the sri, or the pulley. My vote would be the pulley. I'm not completely convinced our stock intakes are that bad really.

On nearly every stock intake the breathing can be greatly improved but our stock intake is already a CAI of sorts. I'm not saying that an SRI wouldn't show you some gains, but I think for the money, the piggy + pulley would be more beneficial than a piggy + sri. All three would be ideal but if there's a pecking order to be had, thats mine.

CAI, piggy, pulley that will be a good value but if you buy a 50 hp shot you get more for what you pay for

yeah, you can replace the stock paper filter with a k&n filter, and remove some of the rubber molding between the intake inlet and the front of the car on your hood so you get more airflow

the pulley is a very affective mod, and a shot of nitrous is too much for someone who is asking a buddy what to do to his car
