the stage 2 cams by rpw (if still available) (and rrm i think) leave the intake side alone what would the benifits be to messing with it if any and i guess what would you need to modify to on the head (springs etc?)?

RPW camshafts are still available, once our website is back up and running again.

Messing with the intake camshaft is done on our stage 2 profiles, stage 1 we only play with the low rpm camshaft on the intake side, and the exhaust profile. With this camshaft design, there are a lot of different ways we can tweak the camshaft, but hte main thing is that it needs to be done in a way that does not upset the factory ecu.

So far best results have been obtained with mild improving of low rpm intake cam, and slight increase in duration and lift by around 10% on the exhaust lobe which has an effect on the high rpm intake lobe as well indirectly.

 

thanks mitsiman for the info, i am still in the early stages of research, good to knwo you guys are still here you guys gave me hope when i had the mirage 1.8 ( i never did get around to doing anything but never the less you let me dream) i still have the car bone stock i used to work for the airline too so used to have fantasies of flying to Australia to pick up parts i was young and foolish(now i am just foolish).

as for more reading i am back on that, i know i jsumped the gun but it was late and i had to get up for classes today.I am continuing the research and financial planning.
