Tranny cooler finally installed

i got my new brakes on today and while the car was on blocks i threw the tranny cooler i bought from RPW in. i've had it since just after christmas and never got to it.

If you have an automatic get one! when you put the pedal down the shifts are so much faster and smoother. you can def. tell the tranny is running cooler. plus it extends the life of the tranny.

i put mine right behind the mitsu emblem and those two grills. gets good airflow and i dont have to worry about it getting wet or stuff shooting up into it. if you dont like the look of it there just shoot it with some black high temp paint and you wont even notice it.

and kreepa, i knew you were right, ive just been really lazy.

the one rpw gave me seems really universal so i think you could get any small one that fits and put it in. please correct me if i'm wrong though.

yeah it does get wet, but i dont think u have to worry about that, coz i think it works like an intercooler so its all sealed up

Do you think any of these would work just as good as the rpw one

I would imagine they are the same thing (figuratively speaking of course) you just gotta find one that is the correct size so it will fit somewhere with airflow

Why do you guys get worried about it getting wet? If it gets wet and then gets some air, it will make the oil cooler even more efficient (just like with spraying water to an intercooler); the only thing that may be a problem is that it may cool the oil too much (like non-activating MIVEC when having too-cold engine oil), but I dont know how that might affect a tranny.

Anyways, there are only so many places in our car where you can put an oil cooler without it becoming wet in the rain .

i figure the tranny(mt/at) would get wet from rain unless you live in an area that never see's rainfall lol.
