Same problem over here. All of my oil changes are done at the dealer, so the fact of the thinner/thicker oil sounds like not so much the problem for me, but who knows. Any fix come of this other than that?

I just started getting that oil light flicker at idle problem. It only happens after I've been driving for a while even though and I'm really not driving hard.

At first I thought it might have been because I stretched the oil change a little... it started doing it at about 7000 kms since the last oil change. I ALWAYS use 5w40 fully synthetic oil. But I just changed the oil and filter and it keeps doing it.

Oil level is and always was just fine. I check regularly. I'm taking it to the dealer today and see what they'll say... But I don't expect anything less than a load of bullsh*t and about 10 visits to solve the problem

Glad to see I'm not the only one who has this (what I hope is a) little annoyance.

After all the reading and a quick chat with the dealer, sounds like the sensor, I'll be changing mine out this weekend and should do the trick. The problem is so common they actually keep the sensors in stock so don't fret.

The sensor is easy to change, cheap, and prone to failure. If you haven't changed the oil weight and you start seeing low oil pressure, first thing to troubleshoot is the sensor. If that doesn't fix it, then it's time to worry.

Changed it out about a week and a half ago and problem solved! Light hasn't come on once since! Didn't require much time or effort either. So all in all, easy fix.

if it was the "at idle" issue it was the one on the block in the back, not the one after the oil control valve.

I also had this problem. Changed the sensor and the problem went away. Although I opted to install an oil pressure guage also just for future monitoring.

The oil pressure sensor is defective like someone said. It's a WEAKNESS on our car just like the rear suspension. Just change the sensor and everything will be fine.

For the oil viscosity, we can run our car with 5w20, 5w30 and 10w30 with no problem. The manual shop said that if you run 10w30 your Gaz consumption will be a little worse. (of corse)

For the people having problems with their oil pressure...how many miles/kms do you have on your car?
