Car running Shacky

Just a quick question. Does anyone know what may be causeing my car to run shacky above 70 KMH (approx 45 MPH) It doesn't matter what gear I seem to be in 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th as soon as I get over 70 the car starts to shake. I was thinking that it might have something to do with my CAI as I have not taking the Cold air extention off yet and the Temp here and been getting as low as -35 at night and up to -1 during the day. It might just be Ice on the filter. Any Help or suggestions would be great. Thanks

What kind of shaky? Like wheel shaky or like forward backward power feeling shaky? If its the first, take your wheels in and have them checked and balanced and maybe even rotated. I had a friend who's POS buick was shaking really bad and she thought it was just because it was a pos, bought her new tires cuz her's were crap (and new tires for a buick are like 50 bucks a piece at most ) and the next time she drove it she called me and said "Wow, the car isn't shaking anymore, it drives really smooth"

it seems wheel shaky. Lots of power still. The tire are brand new about 3 weeks old and not a crap set either. It only just started to do it these last few days. Ps. the tire should have been balanced I paid for it to get done and a wheel alinement also.

You can feel it in the whole car not just in the steering wheel.

I just moved to Alberta from Sask. and last winter my RA used to shake some times around that speed, rather extreme my radar detector would bounce like crazy on my window lol. But that was from ice building up somewhere in the suspension or wheels and throwing something off. Usually I would just powerwash the crap out the underside, in and around the wheels and suspension. Then again I had a garage to put it in so it never froze that bad after washing. Its Saskatchewan in winter, if you car isn't 100% frozen solid and acting weird something is wrong.

I'm going to go with balance or alignment. Although you just had it done, it doesn't mean it was done right! Also, I agree with the lugnut thing, this is the first thing you should check (I've had it happen before).

yeah, lugnuts before you end up on the rotor. I had an issue with this and a spare tire when I was 16. it's a good story for another day

Thanks all for the help i'm going to take it in this morning and have the lugs tightened up and there going to redo the balance and alignment. The ice build up could have an effect to as my car is in need of a surious wash bad.

Thanks again

im betting its ice on the wheels and suspension... I get enough slush frozen about 3x a year inside my front spring and struts that they practically lock up... Kinda fun running around with 0 suspension travel...

Check the 1/2 shafts for ice as well, its been an issue before on the Honda's I worked on at the dealership....

Happens to me quite often. My wheels get snow in them and it doesn't look like it should throw them out of balance, but it does.
Down to -35C today, -42C tomorrow morning. That's without considering the windchill.
The RA handles the cold really well, except the transmission. The trans is notchy and rough at the best of times, but it's really, really bad when it's this cold out.
