Are these intakes any good?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...mZ230293010741

wondering if its worth the money, verry tempting on such a low price, from what i heard the physical CAI is just piping not much difference between manufacturers.

looks like **** but the pipes seem right for the RA. I would honestly try to avoid it though

You could always just use it for the pipes and then switch out to a different filter or somthing.

I have tested a few CAI and SRI and I can tell you from my experience there is not much difference from the piping. You will see a difference with the filter as some are more restrictive than others. As someone said piping is piping (the red is pretty...lol)

Again there is not much difference between a CAI and SRI from my testing. Max difference between the two was 3HP not going to notice.....if your tracking it ok every bit helps.

Personally I would not go near a CAI for one reason and one reason only, hydro lock and where I live a crap load of wet and slushy weather conditions(winter for you non winter people).

Try it and see how it goes. I took a chance on the cheap ebay OBX headers and more then 10K mi later I'm still grinnin like a possum every time I punch it!!

Things dont have to be expensive to be effective. After all it is just a pipe so as long as it fits and you have a quality filter why worry about brand?

Thumbs up

That intake isn't bad at all. It's cheap but decent quality. I know because I have it and I have had AEM and Injen in the past and the construction is very similar. If you want a cheap upgrade, then get you one. I had a few problems at first but figured it out over a month so if you do get it and have any problems get in touch with me, because I can be of help based on experiences I've had

ive only tried 3 types of intakes on my car...a DYI SRI from pepboys, a civic SRI that we cut shorter to fit, and an injen CAI...pepboys one was sh*t, civic one kept throwing a too lean code and would cut off the mivec at 4500rpm, and i LOVE my injen it sounds soo bada$$...i also removed the foglight assembly and housing on both sides and it made it sound louder and increase efficiency due to the air directly flowing to the filter...i gained a few more horses when we dyno'd it from before removing the foglight housings and after removing them with another small fan placed infront of the lower front left side of the bumper

but im sure that ebay one would work fine...IMO i would just like to be able to say i have an intake made by a known company rather than saying its some ebay intake when someone asks.....i do like the red though lol
