to my understanding you need to place the cat after your first o2 sensor in the downpipe and before the o2 sensor in your exhaust tubing so really the only place you can cut out is the downpipe unless there's room in the exhaust tubing before the o2 sensor

also for the leak, you may want to try some of that red silicone high heat gasket maker?

Hmmmmm that might be my problem, cause i jsut had my rrm header/downpipe installed and my cel is on, and ive got the cel eliminator in the downpipe.
Ive got rrm header/downpipe then a little bit of tubing then the HF then custom exhaust with a resonator and a Apexi WS II muffler. The power is definitly great but my cel is on

K so I just read in another thread that if you have the hf cat you dont need the cel eliminator is this true? Rock can you confirm this?

Thanks

That's weird...that's what I did and it worked for me Not that it should totally matter, but I have a Vibrant HF cat, looks shorter than the pictures of the RRM/Magnaflow one.

A lot of the "directions" said you need to use two of the anti-foulers, I ended up using only one, and it hasn't tripped the light yet...and that's with plenty of typical turbo backfiring too!

i used 2 anti-foulers so i have no idea what went wrong with mine. I tried resetting the ECU but it doesnt work for me so I'm not sure. maybe its just the air pressure or something i dont know... it went off for a while but after i cleared the code from the ecu the light came back on, so I just cleared it again so we'll see what happens

benny ralliart: umm the check engine light eliminator goes on your midpipe after the high flow cat if you have one, not the downpipe. It goes on your second o2 sensor to lessen the oxygen and or hydrocarbon readings.

Is the hole that you drilled in your anti-foulers 1/2" and centered? I would guess that people are having trouble with this mod due to not drilling this out correctly. (assuming that everything else was done correctly) I used 7/16" to insure a tight fit with limited air flow... although I did have to route it out a bit.

300 miles on my CEL elim. mod and no light. btw.

thats not possible. I have an 05 RA too and you have an 02 sensor in your downpipe and one in the exhaust pipe. the eliminator goes into the furthest o2 sensor from your engine

well i crawled under my car tonight and i found my 2nd O2 sensor, it was hiding on the other side of my cat and it looks like the CEL eliminator is on there, so now i really dont know why my cel is on. Ill have to try maybe putting it on the first O2 sensor or maybe try running with out it and see it I can get it to stay off.
Thanks for the input

well I got my RRM DP with high flow cat installed yesterday
I also had the RRM CEL eliminator thingy pluggued on the last 02 sensor
Today I now have a CEL on my dashboard
I'll try the 2 spark plug fooler solution to see if it works better but I'm dissapointed to see the optionnal 20$ solution RRM provides doesn't even work!
