Haltech S3 sensor with E6X: need some clarification.
Haltech S3 sensor with E6X: need some clarification.
From RPW:
"The E6X woudl work more than fine, you would need to fit up the seperate air and water tempature switch (Trust me on this without going into huge detail) as well as you will need one of our modified camshaft gears and a haltech S3 sensor as there is no ECU at this time which can read and understand the factory crank trigger on this vehicle."
As I was doing some poking around regarding ways to control mivec and ignition on my car, I sent over an email for a price check on shipping from RPW.
Can someone shed some light on where exactly this S3 sensor would be placed... do I need magnets?? or does the sensor read the factory crank trigger? A google search yielded what looks like some kind of gear or pulley... so I'm assuming you put magnets on the "wheel" and the sensor on the edge of the wheel to read the magnets?? Or does their "modified" camshaft gears have the magnets built in?? Some clarification would be much appreciated.
