Im back.... even better so is the RA
So0o, couple of you may remember me from back year ago or more actually... I runnin g a pretty much completely stock RA with nitrous. It was a 05 with a muffler and a wet kit from nitrousoutlet, ran a 50 shot on it and made a 14.5 pass first night not spraying until 2nd and spinning bad on launch, shifting at 6300-6500 rpms. Ran again another night and got her down to a 14.2 power shifting a launching a little better.
I retired the car to Daily driver status sold the nitrous and have since had everything from civic's to gsx and tsi's to 300zx turbo and more. I've since sold off my last project car and for whatever reason decided I want to get back at it with the RA and build the quickest n2O RA out there (something about the RA not being well liked and lil after market support I dunno).
New plan involves, RRM timing box, piggy back, UDP, ACT clutch, Cam, Hi-flow cat, Cold air, aluminum flywheel, new clutchline, new motor mounts(screw wheel hop), a new Nitrous Outlet wet kit complete with purge bottle heater etc. running on a tunable window switch. Wideband, and good dyno tune session and grab some slicks then hit the track and see where she's at...
after that if I want to push it further will venture into direct port, haltech interceptor or full standalone, bottom end build, etc.... In the end I really would like to dip into the 12's I will be happy there. Stay tuned for the build to start up later this month as I start gettin parts in.

interesting.... very interesting... i'll be following your build thoroughly. good luck with the build. Sounds like you have a good attack plan. I'm in the middle of working my bottom end, so if you need anything i can try to help best i can.
yeah I will be following your car as well, I remember you on here from the past glad to see your still going at it... I'd love to know where mine would have been at by now had I spent the time and money on it instead of multiple other cars.

I think some time in the near future (1-3 months) i'll be getting a new piggyback from Rob. I think what i'm probably doing is just trading my old one with the new one with the new tune. But if by chance i end up keeping the one i have, i'll send it your way. But its a few months away.

higher compression piston would be fine with the nitrous as long as A/f ratio's stay in check and I wouldnt be able to run as big of a shot, the pressure in the cylinder is what breaks things not how much nitrous or how much boost from a turbo, or what have you. Its the force of the total pressure being forced on the internals at the point of combustion. parts can only handle up to certain amount of this pressure before they break.
When you raise compression your increasing this pressure then if you add nitrous or boost it increases this pressure even more, so with low compression pistons say 10 lbs boost gets you 200whp, in a higher compression setup that same 10lbs of boost may get you 250whp so you have to keep this in mind when changing compression on a engine that you plan to use nitrous or boost and adjust the levels of the nitrous or boost accordingly to keep the car in a safe configuration.
As I plan on going turbo in the near future I will likely leave the compression at stock level or lower. Wow sorry for the long rant.. its late im bored.
