What is this wire to?

I was changing my oil today and noticed a wire was cut, what is it for if anyone knows. The one is just going to what looks like another bolt soooo is it a pointless wire?

Not a factory wire. Maybe an old alarm or stereo ground.

i figure it's just an old ground wire used for possibly a grounding kit or maybe for an accessory like a sub or something. doesnt look like it could cause any harm removing it or such

Old ground wire for sure. Probably to an aftermarket security system. The gauge is too small to be used for a sub or any type of amp. Possibly a head unit, but its pointless to run it to that location since there are grounding bolts inside the cabin.

My money is on aftermarket security system.

LOL! That would be awesome to have one
But I guess it could be to an aftermarket alarm system, the original owner lived in baltimore. And is there even an alarm on our cars?? I don't have a panic button on my remote, and I don't remember reading anything in the manual about an alarm.

But thanks for the response everyone, everything works as it should, except for MiVEC, but thats an ecu problem that hackish is working on for me.

definitely not a wire from the factory. perhaps an old HID kit?
as for alarm, everyone is referring to an aftermarket one, not a factory one =) and shame on mitsu dealers for falsely stating that we have immobilizers....

Its not engaging properly. I got my ECU flashed by Hackish. I think I may be the first 06, but anyways, First gear works perfectly. Once I hit second gear, and Mivec engages, I lose a lot of power, and its the same through the rest of the gears for mivec. I have noticed if I ease into Mivec it sort of works. So Hackish is flashing my stock ECU and sending it back once all the problems get worked out But other than that I love the flash

Those are the only ones I could find when I was looking, the one that is there, and the one that is cut.
