Sos help please

ok so heres the deal, some of you here know i bent ALL my intake valves. whell got a nice port and polish done to head and a 3 step on the valves. well got the car all put together and the timing set and KINDA adjusted the rockers but kept them fairly looser just to run it to operating temp t do the valve lash. well somehow 10 of the nuts on the set screws on the rockers fell off. we found 5 of them in the head but think the other 5 dropped into the oil system. w ran out of time and daylight so we couldnt pull the pan but does anyone know if it drops pretty much straight from the head to the pan or does its bend and whatnot. were hoping their in the pan but idk. i wont be able to get back to the car till sat. please any info would help

Nothing complicated about removing the oil pan. Remove all the bolts, then you'll have to separate the pan from the block, as it'll be stuck on from the liquid gasket material they use. Be really careful when you do this. You don't want to tweak the lip on the pan as that'll make it harder to seal when you reinstall it.

They make tools to separate the pan from the block, however, you could probably manage it with a putty knife or something similar. Just be patient and work your way around the pan.

I'm pretty sure the oil drain passages are a straight shot down from the rocker area to the pan. If they didn't all make it down to the pan when you get it off, you should be able to look down through the holes and find any that got stuck.

Good luck!
