I have a 04 turbo ralliart, currently at 4psi.. Not much but plan to get it to about 10.. But i need a clutch and plan on upgradeing it since i need one anyway.. but here is what has been done to the car.. Do you think i'll need a stage 1, 2? Please help new to this. Thanks in advance.
Custom Turbo kit includes:
-Garrete T4 turbo
-custom tubular manifold
-custom downpipe
-Tial waste gate
-Blits DD bov
-Custom IC piping and intake piping
-Godspeed black front mount intercooler
-RRM volt clamp kit
-RRM 5th 1000cc injector kit.
-All tuned with split second turbo ecu, tuned by Road Race Motorsports for proven lasting reliability. The ecu is fully reprogrammable and comes with a CD from RRM containing there maps as well as software to write your own. The engine also has a
-RRM carbon fiber engine cover
-RRM radiator
-and a weapon R oil catch tank.

Lol, your description of the piggy back sounds like an advertisement.
At 10psi, you should be well under 300hp, at the wheels, not sure what that would put you at the crank, but a stage 1 or 2 clutch kit should be fine, as far as discs, i don't think anything too crazy will be necessary, is it your daily driver? that plays a big part, as anything too "grabby" might be a pain in the **** when you're scootin' around town. Most of the guys tend to stay away from the ACT clutch, and prefer clutchmasters, and for a CM clutch kit, i'm pretty sure the first couple "stages" use the same pressure plate, so the decision is based around the clutch disc itself, and that depends on what kind of engagement you want, how long you want it to last etc. Kevlar stage 2 from clutchmasters would have been my choice if i had not found a stage 1 ACT clutch kit for 100$.
Funny, i remember starting such a thread a while back, almost the same name too

I agree with Crank, the clutchmasters Kevlar stage 2 has been my choice for years now I'm just waiting for this oem one to die , but after 6+ years and tons of bottles of nitrous it's still holding up. As for that "programable" piggyback, good luck with that and the 5th injector, but where you will really need the luck is finding someone that feels comfortable tuning it. And why are you at 4psi? the rrm kit comes at 6-7 psi why is it turned down? Post up some pics we all like seeing new members cars.
I bought the car, about a month ago.. Been having a few minor problems with it, but none major, Clutch is the biggest so far.. I'm not sure why it was turned down? I believe the guy said to save MPG, but i really don't beleive that. And it is a daily driver, and i want it to last.. And thanks for advise on CM, because i was going to go with a ACT stage 1! I'll get pictures up asap, it is dark here now so ill have to do it tomorrow or sometime soon!

The ACT stage1 is not bad, it chatters slightly, but i haven't had any problems with it yet.
What's telling you you're at 4psi? You might have a leak, and if it's "tuned" for 6, then you'll be running pig rich. What's your AFR?
Once you get the clutch done, i would address your tune, i don't think 10PSI on a split second is wise. You'll want an ECU reflash, or stand alone, and 4 550cc injectors, and scrap the 5th.

If your getting the act clutch stay away from stage 1 and 2. Try to get the act hdss. Less chattering and i find it manageable for dd. You will need to machine your flywheel also. Or get a better one for better results.
The 5th inj from rrm leaks like a ***** also check your manifold for exhaust leaks. And im pretty sure if you got their Turbo ecu, your running reallly rich. Try and get an egt gauge right away if u can to see where ur at or get it tuned cuz giving gas to that baby is ridiculous. I dont kno mpg but mine is 260km for a tank.

Dude, Ian, that's brutal, i do that with half a tank at 135km/h, highway though.
I had a thought the other day, does the clutch slave modulator act like an accumulator? If it does, bypassing that might be what puts the extra stress on the master and slave cylinders, as an accumulator would sort of "preload" fluid pressure, reducing the instantaneous pressure required to actuate the slave cylinder against a stiffer pressure plate.

Yes im desperately in need of a tune. I cant even log for mapping. Fml till i hunt down hak1sh. Lol.. 1 day ill be driving there with 10 jugs filled with gas. Or when our gas price go down to a dollar.Originally Posted by CrAnSwIcK

For the slave and the master im still watching it. . Minor problems. i had to top it with more fluid recently. Precisely twice. Ive felt loosing pressure im thinking its just air along the line.. and i know what u mean about constant pressure bombarding the slave and master cylinder.. With the line bypassed ive gotten rid of that whimpy feeling when engaging the clutch also that erk sound.. Its now smooth and my clutch feels half stock.. lol anyways Its still holding out even with the fluid over to the maximum line. Ive been driving it for 4 weeks now and its still the same. However, I do have to fix my flywheel issue... Ive been feeling that my clutch has been slipping a bit.. I'll have to get it machined properly or get an aftermarket.

Hackish is not too hard to find usually, unless he moved his shop, i usually give him a week or two heads up by email that i'm coming, so i'm not imposing on his work.
Do you think this would be a good one to go with?

And should i get the flywheel to go with it ? Or will it be alright without?

OR this?

And again, will i need flywheel, or be fine without?

Those both have the same pressure plate, so pedal pressure will be the same, and holding capacity roughly the same as well.
Like i said before, the way the clutch engages will vary between the organic disc, and the kevlar disc, i would think the kevlar would hold better and last longer, but they will both be about the same.
It's up to you, you don't need a flywheel, just get yours resurfaced when you have the transmission out.

Ok! Thank you, you guys have been a big help, I'll prolly go with the stage 2, but not sure.. I'm in this to save money right now, but i also want it to last
Well i went with the fx100, i dont know if i am even going to keep the car so i went cheaper then the x200 but better then stock so well see how she runs when i get the car back.. Went in garage tonight, so ill be getting it back either tomorrow or friday when my buddy has time
