i would lean toward an evo 9 4G63 swap...4b11's are backwards, you'll likely run into issues with the firewall if you try swapping a 4b11...plus a 4g63 would be easier to mount our fwd transmissions as the blocks are almost identical...

I would use the evo 9 head on our block. The evo guys are using our block, so why cant we use there head and wiring harness? It would be a lot easier.

THIS.

If you use the 4g63 MiVec head from the Evo IX then it only takes minimal machining to make the MiVec lines match up then it will bolt right on. Attach the turbo, grab an evo ECU and wiring harness then you have a FWD 2.4l Evo/Ralliart hybrid.

There are several other things you could do to beef it up while you got it tore apart if your planning to push a lot of boost. Like pistons and rods, and machine oil squirters into the block. Those sort of things will keep you from having to tear into it down the road.

Id love to do this if I didnt have the A/T. I have daydreams of getting an evo tranny swapped in then doing this swap but that'll probably be far way if ever.

This if anything. Swapping to the newer ralliart motor would be a big hassle and cost more than putting a 4g63 in for sure.

"Since our tranny are so alike would the evo clutch fit our tranny?"

Check Rock Auto. They show the number of splines in the RA clutch as 20 and diameter as 7/8. The Evo is shown as 23 splines and diameter 1 or 1. something. Diameter as in the hole for the input shaft.
RA clutch plate diameter is given from 225-228 mm depending on the source. Evo 7,8,9 clutch plate diameter is given as 240mm.
But want to guess the clutch plate diameter on the Evo 4,5,6 ???

All who said 225-228 mm will get free beer.
Evo 7-9 flywheels bolt onto Evo 4-6 crankshaft, so vice versa should be true.

Also, Evo flywheels bolt straight onto 4G69 crankshafts, so again, vice versa should be true.
I've asked members who built engines with the 4G69 block and crank for their Evos.

Now who makes a clutch for the RA that can stomach a 4G63 ???

a 2.0L 4g63 will make more power than a 4g69...the 4g63 is a closed deck block with oil jets and stronger internals stock...lots of evo guys make 400+ hp on stock blocks, and the evo guys that are using 4g69 blocks, are using stronger aftermarket internals, so unless you're going to spend the additional $1,000 on rods, pistons and head studs, you'd be better of with a stock 2.0L 4g63T than, a frankenstein 4g69, with DOHC and weak pistons...

He has spoken. That is all. Lol if you end up doing a 63 swap, you'll probably be considered an RA god of sorts...I don't believe it to be as difficult as some say. I watched a friend of mine (a fab guru) stick the entire drivetrain from an 8 into a tiburon...so it can be done and the fact the the Evo and RA are soo similar, I think it could be done somewhat easily.
