Have you considered the Short Shifter? I know the shifter is already nice..... But I want it shorter....cutting it is not the way...so this is the only option...... I will take the shorter throws as a bonus. Let me know if you get the ECU..... I'm thinking about that one or the E-manage. See Turbo Techs RA....Nice eh

I am not interested in shorteing my throw on the shifter. I think the RA shifts real nice and I see no need to mess with it. If it iant broke dont fix it there. I am not racing competatively so shifter kit does nothing for me. I might get a good clutch later but we'll see. I am going to go with the RRE ECu I think though.

So, are you using the stock MAS sensor plastic pipe? If so, I guess you had to cut it off the stock intake box, right?

I need to something similar, got a intake but need to modd it like yours.

And how is your intake pipe being held, did you weld a mounting bracket on it?

Tech, I sent you a PM with my email address in it. Spyder, yes I am using the stock plastic pipe for the MAS, and if you ask RRE, that is what they are using also. They said part of the expense of their intake was that they have to buy a factory box from Mitsu for every intake they make and that is part of the cost. My pipe is just restin in the engine bay, no brackets. It hasnt been a problem yet at all and it has been in the car for almost 2 weeks so far. Let me know if you want any other info, happy to oblige.

Hmmm, you would think a shop of that calibar should be able to fashion their own parts like that! You could probably do it with some intricate welding job.

Where did you get the piping and filter for your DIY kit?

And, lol it's getting late here -keep forgtting my thoughts, how does your exhaust sound? Did you just weld it on to stock pipe?

Cuz, I got a Magnaflow 2.5" see thru muff getting anxious to go on my sportback. I will probably cut out the cats, too. hehe

the exhaust sounds great. Very similar to the way my Eclipse sounded, but a little more aggressive. If you have the exhaust already than put it on, you will love it. The filter is from ebay, pretty standard stuff really, looks and sounds good. Piping was done here in town. I might be able to get a pipe made for some people if they are interested. I will take off the pipe on the car and take a picture so that people see what I am doing for the total set-up. Maybe I can set something up for you guys.

I also thought something of that very same nature a little while ago, that is why I originally posted a thread asking if anybody else thought the RRE intake was too expensive. They showed some good pics and explained how the design worked. it made pretty good sense. As far as making their own bracket goes, why do it if you dont have to. There would be no gain over the flow of the factory piece, just cosmetics. As far as my custom job, I will take pics soon of it out of the car and you can see what you think of the difference between mine and the RRE one. There is a difference. Hell when I post these pics I can probably set some people up with the same set-up I have if anyone is really interested. We'll see.
