is there something wrong?

I have been experiancing my RA not pulling as hard as it did a while back. I dont know why and im concerned. I dont want to take it to the dealership and get charged for them just looking at it. Any suggestions.

you shouldn't get charged. If something is wrong, and you're concerned, that should be covered under warranty.

But what do you mean by "not pulling as hard?" I mean, mine doesn't pull as hard as it could when it's started cold in the morning....usually takes about 5-10 mins of warming up to get it to go. But I've heard the opposite.....that the Mivec breaks in after a while and just keeps getting better.

But yeah dude, take it to the dealer, there's no reason why you should just sit on your hands, they'll look at it for free. The warranty states they have to if you're legitimately concerned about it.

Two Questions:

1. How many miles are on your RalliArt?
2. Have you changed your oil yet?

I noticed alot of lag on my car after I broke 3,000 miles. It only got worse until I changed the oil when I was just over 4,200 miles. Right after I changed my oil with Mobil 1 Synthetic blend my car felt brand new and had the pull it had when it was new. Change your oil, that's more then likely all it is. Once your oil gets old your car will feel laggy. That's probably what you're experiencing.

Just my .02 cents

i'll concur with MitsuLancer04. I changed my oil at 4300 miles and it felt like it had a ton of bricks in he trunk. I went with regular old Castrol 5w-30 and it feels like a brand new car. (ha ha my car is only a month old....but still) If you still dont notice anything different try a bottle of injector cleaner. There should be no reso why they are dirty but you never know. If that still does't work, take it to the dealer. make it thier damn problem!

It's possible it's an oil thing or even a climate thing....... But....are you sure not just use to the car....so it doesn't feel as fast? I know with me.....I get use to the vehicles pickup...and always thinks it's slower..... Whether it's a super bike or a sports car I've had.....after I'm used to it....I always think it's slower.... Just a thought

yeah, drive someone else's 4 cyl car for a day and get used to their acceleration and suspension...you'll find what you've been missing once you get back in yours....although when i first got my car it felt like i had a lot more low rpm torque, but now, I noticed i have to remember and wait until it kicks in....

Ya, Ive noticed that on my RA too. I work at a mitsubishi dealership and whenever I have to go somewhere on company business I take a lot RA. They seem to be ALOT more peppy then mine. I Only got about 1700 miles on mine but I did drive it a little hard, well I will wait and see when I get my oil changed and see how all that turns out.

When i came back to my RA I felt the power that I felt whe i first got it and got stupid happy. I also checked my oil and its starting to become dirty so maybe when i change it I ill be worry free. HAHA. Thanks a lot for all the info and advise.

Yeah, you definitely get used to it after a while. I was on vacation in Orlando for a week....then got back and took the Ralliart for a spin. I was like WOW! It took me a few mins to get used to it again....

I would suggest everyone switching to a full synthetic. If you need any motivation to do so, just look at the tach when you are on the highway.

If mivec works like vtec, then it is based of of oil pressure.

That is why it kicks in harder when warm, and also why it feels better after an oil change.
