Spend the money somewhere else where it will make a difference, like a reflash.

Thanks for the compliment but I am no different than anyone else on here. Remember I had a stock car and it all started when I did my first mod. You guessed it the rear wing...

We are all Mitsubishi enthusiasts we love out cars, you have to see RallairtN engine bay you can eat off it. Mine on the other hand is a disaster, not as bad as Cranswick interiour (you have to admit...LOL) but then again my car has been through hell and its still here!!!!

For the flash there are 2 options. UVTune tuning suite and ECUFLASH. Both have a few issues at the moment. Until Mike and I stop acting like kids the uvtuner is on hold and ECUFLASH can read only. There is a problem with the write function, from what I hear ECUFLASH is working on the solution.

imho, i think you should get your RA in the best condition you can get it to (service/maintenance-wise) before modding.

when i first got my RA, she had lots of things that needed to be taken care of. now there are only a few major things that i need to do:
1) belt/pulley service (planning on getting a lightweight pulley)
2) service & strengthen suspension (new struts, maybe springs, maybe coilovers)
3) REBUILD MY TRANS (not even gonna say anything lmfao)

other than that, my RA is good to go and let me tell you that i have over 257,000 km on my RA and he still runs like a champ! when i complete those 3 tasks, that's the time i'll start modding.

if and ONLY IF your RA is in good running condition aka BEST SHAPE YOU CAN GET IT TO, you can start by getting these done:
1) https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/04...t-install.html
2) https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/04...take-pipe.html
3) get yourself a nice muffler
4) look for a nice downpipe and high-flow cat to free up some power
5) post photos of your mods and discuss results here on EvoM and work your way from there

how does that sound? i think that's a good start right? that's my step-by-step goal with my RA. been busy working and schooling so i haven't been able to get anything done. plus it's too freakin cold here right now lol.

well that's all i can squeeze out of my brain atm. hope i helped out a bit. and be sure to keep us posted regarding your decisions/results. we're always here to help a fellow RA LOVAH haha!

take care man! peeeeeeace!

PS: all my knowledge on cars were acquired right here on EvoM. if not for the people here, i wouldn't even be able to write a quarter of this post to TRY and help you out loool!

cheers!

cool, sounds good man. i don't really know of any meets here except for the one @ Kennedy Commons (Kenned Rd/Hwy 401) every Wednesday night. but since the "weather outside is frightful" i'm not sure if they're still meeting.

just a quick question. you're going to JRP @ mississauga?

is that the place?

Does the RRM cat back have a resonator? It looks like it does in the picture but it doesnt mention it. If it does I would just order a high flow cat from any parts supplier (jegs, summit, etc.) and then go to a muffler shop and have them make you a pipe to go from the bottom of your stock header and under the steering rack to get rid of that crushed section of pipe and connect to your cat back. Any muffler shop (i would imagine) would be equipped to make such a piece for fairly cheap. If the cat back does not have a resonator I would definitely get one and have it added. The resonator does a lot to change the tone, and mood of an exhaust note. Lanzer has a BIG resonator with no cat and from the video I have seen it sounds awesome.

Yes it does have a resonator so you suggest me to only buy a high flow cat and make a pipe without a curve in it?

Not without a curve. Without the crushed piece. If you look under your car where the exhaust goes under the steering rack there is a 4 or 5 inch length of pipe that is flattened down a bit. I would make sure that and your old cat get replaced with full sized pipe and a high flow cat.

I don't think so. You'll have a cat a resonator and a muffler. So I can't imagine it getting to raspy.

nice! can't wait to hear the results. i got myself a high-flow cat from a member here on EvoM but it's still sitting in my closet since i haven't found the time to put it on. maybe this summer i'll get myself a nice muffler and i'll slap that high-flow cat on with it too.

Yeah I'm trying to cut down on the rasp too on my set up. I think I'm going to get a regular catalytic converter not a high flow. It's just so damn loud now I don't want to be upset with minor results from a high flow cat. Currently I have the oem header (getting ceramic coated) RRMs v2 downpipe, 22" magnaflow resonator, RRMs magnaflow axle back exhaust. I wanna replace all if the exhaust gaskets while I'm down there I think there's at least one that's leaking.
