Cam Upgrade

Ok so after reading around and calling a few people, I can't seem to figure out if we have a cam upgrade available. Talked to Delta Cam and they said it just is not possible. Somebody had also mentioned the RPW cam, but I am told Australian Ralliarts have a different cam profile/setup.

Can I get a clear answer on this? Should note car is staying N/A.

No issues? after talking with Delta and reading a rather lengthy thread, they said it simply cannot be done. Saw some pics of the damage the regrind did.

With their stage two did you need to upgrade the springs or any of the internals? Maybe just some valve lash? Got any videos?

The rpw cams are expensive but a great upgrade, my cars been great so far. They have a few different grinds, stage 2 was the safest, no other valvetrain work needed to be done, just the valve lash and a tune

do cam gears even do anything for a SOHC?...you can't really time the intake and exhaust valves separately...

if they can make cams for 4G63 MIVEC, they should be able to make one for a SOHC head...mind you, apparently even HKS 272 camshaft only gives a 4G63 turbo like 10hp.

The cam for these cars make good power. Stock these cars are probably 140-145 whp, and after only my exhaust, the cam, and a sri (which most likely didnt add much) my car dynoed 185 whp

Yeah that was what I was trying to figure out, if it would actually do much if anything. I think I will probably skip it.

@ DirtyRalli does it add any cam lob to the car or is it pretty smooth?

The car idles kind of rough, it sounds good though. Because the idle is so bumpy its causing my cel to come on every 2 monthes about with a random multiple missfire code, it doesnt actually missfire, the cam is just pretty aggressive

how do you know it's not misfiring? if it was the idle causing it, it would happen every time you idle the car...

Yeah, that would be odd if it caused an occasional random misfire code. A little lob is fine with me. My last daily driver had 280/280.

I reset the code every once in a while and it takes a while for the code to cone back, its not missfiring because iv replaced everything possible and the car runs fine with no sign of missfire

If I went for a more aggressive cam or just wanted to upgrade my springs. Are there any others that swap with ours? Like hopefully the 4G63? I think i still have a set of FFWD Bee-MAD somewhere.
