Possible O2 sensor issue
Possible O2 sensor issue
Hello again.
I am having issues with my car again, this time the idle goes so far down, that the car turns off. I scanned, it gave me code P0139.
I checked at AutoZone but they say they cant tell which of the, according to them, 2 O2 sensors is the bad one. One is about 60$, the other is about 350.
I am currently going thru some economic hardships so i cant waste money i dont really have.
Any advice on what else to check? Also i must comment that not long ago i had similar issues, but it was a MAF issue, which got cleaned and the issue got fixed. Are these O2 sensors something u can clean? And if possible, where are they located and how do you clean them? Sprayed?
Sorry for going on, but im a PC guy, dont do much with my car.
Thanks in advance!

IF it's an o2 sensor or both...you just need new ones..
they're on the exhaust..
open the hood and look down just in front of the engine...you'll see the first one(upstream), and from under the car you should be able to see the 2nd one(downstream)...if i remember just behind the engine on the exhaust pipe
there's no cleaning them...they're either bad or they're not...
i'd suggest check the wiring first...it's possible it could be bad...but very unlikely..
but also it's even more unlikely both are bad simultaneously...
i know you say you're short on $, but you'll have to at least spend some $ and time for diagnostic time...
i suggest you look online for better pricing...im sure you could find both with shipping for under $200 with a little looking
i suggest using www.partsgeek.com
i've used them before and they have good prices...
make sure you look for the ones for the 2.4l engine, the 2.0l and 2.0t ones may be different
im sure somebody else can help better...i never had this problem myself so im only guessing based on your info
