Question Engine Compartment Exhaust System Heat Shielding

My first post!
Does anyone know of any problems encasing the headers / factory heat shielding in a high temp insulating material? This would significantly reduce the underhood temperatures.
I don't understand why Mitsu would put a thin heatshield with holes on the headers.

Even with the holes It lowers the temp. They are there so that air flow will push hot air down and under the car. I used 1200 degree ceramic paint on mine and did a coat of high gloss 500 degree paint over that to make it look better. There where a couple posts on this a while back. do a search. you'll get all the info you need.
