The ones I installed for the shifter housing it was 2 bushings per bolt and the small machined side would face towards the housing so that it fits in their snug, one above, one below. Hope this helps, not sure if your bushings are the same. The smaller side should fit perfectly into the hole where the old rubber bushing was.

You should email kartboy, but from what pocora said it seems like the smaller side should fit in there perfect.

all the other kits use 8 pieces, two for each bolt, one on each side

the kartboy kit has 4 pieces only, so not sure if it goes top or bottom of the shifter

My guess would be that the bushing goes on the top of the housing with the small side down into the hole the old bushing fit in, that way the bolt will hold the bushing down and the bushing holds the shifter housing in place, if you put it underneath then the bolt would just be holding the bushing down but not the housing.

On a side note, I just installed the bushings for the shifter cable connection under the hood, and it's a pretty sick combination, B&M and bushings, I would recommend it to anyone.

Oh and AdamRA have you joined lancernation.net yet? I see you're in vancouver, we try to get together every so often, you should check it out if you havent already.

I know for sure they go on the bottom with the small portion facing up. I just installed B&M precision short shifter, and they only have 4 bushings and they go on the bottom against the floor. same with kartboy

how does it hold the housing in place? it would seem that the housing would just be resting on top of the bushings? anyways, i installed an 8 piece kit so I'm just guessing at this

If it's only 4 pieces, the smaller end would go face down, on top of the shifter base.

With 8 pieces, 4 go under the base, smaller end face up, and 4 pieces go face down on top.

i had to actually trim the small end of the bushing with a knife to allow it to fit. make sure you check your small end fits fine.

at first i thought mine was fitting fine but the bushing was actually kinda flexing because it was just a little too big.
