WENT and WICH?? REGULAR OR Synthetic

I got a 04 RA with 3300 milles , At all mi cars I use too chage the oil at about 5K and never really bother to use Synthetic OIL.. The Manufacture said to chage the oil every 7.5 K I think that is a bit to much miles in bettuing oil chage no?

So wath right thing to do REGULAR or Synthetic and how offent?

I would go with full sythetic its better for your engine and doesn't break down as fast as normal oil. I would change it every 5k miles just to be on the safe side as well maybe even sooner if you drive your car hard. I change my Evo oil every 4k miles and use Mobile 1 full synthetic.

The manual says every 7500 miles. That seems too long an interval to me, so I change it twice in that time. Every 3750 miles, Mobil1 synthetic. I changed it the first time at 2999 miles, and switched to synth then, figuring the engine was broken in pretty well by then.

And before any of you ***holes jump on me for changing it too often, it's my money, I'll throw it away if I want to.

i changed mine at 3k and noticed a diff afterwards. if you wana be lazy and cheap, wait 5-7.5k. but you will pay for in the long run. the car will still run, just not as well. im not going to try to explain it, but it was noticeable. I used non-synthetic castrol GTX on the first change. This was because I am not sure how a turbo will take to synthetic. I know the OZ/ES oil pump just plain sucks and couldnt handle sythentic /w the RRM turbo. I may switch next chang anyway, just for the hell of it. cant hurt!

You are looking at the "normal" time interval. The severe schedule (90% of people drive their car in a severe way sometimes, such as short trips, city driving, stop and go, dusty areas, cold areas etc).
Anyway, the severe schedule has you change it every 3500 miles. Waiting until 4000 miles probably wouldn't harm anything, but why not change at 3500? It isn't that expensive to change the oil and it is the most important fluid under the hood.

Only one of those conditions applies to me. Unfortunately, it for about 7 months out of the year. Otherwise, I drive 60 miles one-way to get to and from work, on interstate, state, and county highways. In those 60 miles, there are 3 stop signs and 3 stoplights. I still change my oil more often than the regular schedule says.

Notice the etc? There are many other things besides the ones I mentioned. ONE of those things is enough to warrant the severe schedule. You drive in cold weather? Use the severe schedule.

If you use synthetic, 7,500 miles is more than OK. Synthetic oil does not have sulfur, wax, or nitrogen based acids in the bottle. I can not stress enough how much better synthetic is than conventional. Synthic oil is typically changed in 12,000+ mile intervals. 7,500 is fine. I put 90,000 miles on my Tiburon in 1.5 years and it dyno'd higher than it did when new. Synthetic is definitely worth it if you are buying and not leasing.
