Auto-off headlights

A couple weeks ago I jumped a co-workers car. It was dark out, so I left my headlights on so I could see as I hooked stuff up, and thus I learned about the little auto-off feature of our headlights. It was really really really annoying to not be able to intentionally leave the headlights turned on. Any of you know how to get around this feature?

I suppose I could read my manual, but it's dark and cold outside.

Take the key right out of the ignition, turn the light switch off for a couple seconds, turn it back. They should now stay on. I believe the auto-off thing only happens when the key is in the ignition without the engine running OR if you left the lights on. Turning them off and then on cancels it.

yeah, i think all you have to do is turn the knob to the off position and then turn it back to on again

Yea just remove the key, then turn off the headlights and then turn them back on, they should come back on. Same goes for fogs lights
