Why is the 05 about 200 bucks more MSRP than the 04? I checked the specs, and the only thing that I could find that was different was the 04 HAD speed sensing wipers (didn't know that), the 05 DOES NOT. And the 05 has a rear air dam (?) that the 04 didn't.
Can anyone confirm either or justify the price hike?

Profit? Suppliers causing costs to rise? Personnel changes at factory?
Just because they felt like it?

i don't know. considering they have a higher base MSRP than many of its competitors, raising it wouldn't help sales. of course, i haven't seen numbers, maybe the RA is selling like crazy. supply and demand?
MSRP is one piece of the puzzle, but look at it this way.
Does the Ralliart's competitors have...
1. A 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.
2. a 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
3. free maintenance for 3 years or 45,000 miles.
4. free road side assitence for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
5. 3.9% financing for 60 months or up to $1000 in rebates.

Thanks.
But, I don't know what you mean. I see "front and rear airdams" for both the '04 and '05 on my product guide sheets. It just adds the word "integrated" for '05, but they make small semantic wording changes like that a lot without there being any real change to the vehicle - just editing differences from whoever typed the update last. I also see "variable intermittent wipers" for both years, too, nothing like speed sensitive.

04 was the first year. prob made a bit cheaper to get more on the road and build up a name for it. it happens. grill changed, too. plus they went from a 30 to 60k b2b....and the fact that mitsu is almost broke, they could use the $$
I thought the 05 came with the mesh grille standard that Mitsu sells aftermarket for the 04... That was a while ago though that someone said that & don't think it was confirmed... If it's not on the spec sheet you have, probably just speculation!!!
It does show "sport grille" as an attribute on the '05. Sun, Sound and side airbag packages also come with a "Rally package" that includes a cargo net, scuff plate(s?) and chrome exhaust tip that will add $131.00 to the car - in addition to the $1500 add for the S,S +SA option, of course.
$200 is probably for the addition of the mesh grille (which is what the part cost as an 04 add-on). The image gallery shows the car with the mesh grille.
I notice that for the 05's the have more options listed (weren't listed for the 04's, though you could ask for them), like mud guards, sports meter kit, and some more interior trim stuff.

I was looking at the 05's at the dealer and the only change that I could see was that there was a 6 disc changer option located in the lower enclosure. That was it same grill and everything. I was hoping they would have the mesh grill as stock, so maybe I could get one for cheaper than $300cdn....
The 05's do not come with the grill it is still something you need to have added.
They have the package listed somewhere I think they call it a sport package and it comes with pedals and the grill.
Here is the link look at the bottom.
