ralliart front strut bar

Does the strut bar make that much of a differance?I have the accolade evo 8 hood and I'm still tryin to get it installed properly, but I'm told the strut bar wont be able to fit.Is there any way to cut into the hood or shave something to make it fit?

It won't make a huge diff unless you run it regularly on the road course... and that's only after you've stiffened everything else up in the suspension.

The funny thing is that when you ask the people selling strut bars, they make all the differecne in the world but when you ask the guys selling the hoods that won't fit with the strut bars, they don't make that big of a difference.

That's why you ask another car enthusiast who isn't selling anything what the real score is.

you need it.. the strut bars that are "adjustable" (hinges on the mounts) don't do ANYTHING.. the non-adjustable wielded trianglar ones like the RA or EVO makes a world of difference.. removing it you will remove a lot of stiffness from the front end.. i won't EVER do that.. if the hood don't fit i will just skip the hood..

that's why all the evo guys demand they get a non-adjustable strut bar when they replace their stock ones..

I think there might be a way to cut into the hood and create an area for the strut bar to go inside..?but Im not sure that sounds like a mickey mouse job,and Ive heard it destroys the credibility of the hood.

I installed a 49.00$ multipiece strut bar to replace the factory 3 point stamped unit, my wife noticed the change in the passenger seat. The feel is much stiffer even at 25 mph turning sharply. I drive my car all the time and know it's handling feel very well. My suggestion is to replace the awful protenza tire if cash flow is possible, the tire SUCK!!! dry, wet, slow, fast they are awful.

the factory stamped piece is weaker than your 49.00 hinged piece.. i doubt it but if that's what you felt, i guess it's good

I know that a one piece would be much more rigged, just tryin' to be easy on the wallet. I want an RRM or RD onepiece.

importstylz07, I might be able to come up with a low profile design for you if you would like. I need to know how much clearance you have between the top of the engine and the aftermarket hood.

You can use playdoh for that. Just make a cone from the playdoh and put it on your valve cover. Shut the hood, then when you open it, take a measurment.

PM me if you want to.

Thanks!

A one piece made of stronger steel, not the POS factory stamped piece. The 49$ one is a solid i beam from strut tower to tower, not lightweight cheap sheet and tube steel then stamped together like most of a unibody car.
