Smoother Shift

Hey guys, I was just wondering....

How would I make my shifter shift as smoothly as say the Nissan Sentra Spec-V? That car has one hell of an easy shift. I don't necessarily need it, but it would be nice. What does the Sentra have that we don't, besides the 6-speed?

we have a restrictor in the clutch line that makes shifting tough. I just installed the RRM ss clutch line and it makes the shiftes VERY smooth. My girlfriend even noticed....thats a testomonial if I ever heard one.

I heard different, the specV shifter was sluggish. Alot of people & magazines call it a "slush box".

IMO its ok, but it does feel sluggish, the RA shifts smooth to me... im guessing with an RRM clutch line, it could shift even better.

a new SS clutch line and new shifter bushings would help greatly in making it a smoother shift.

I drove a v-spec and i did not think it was that smooth. I also just ordered a RRM clutch line today, I cant wait to get it. Short shifter and energy bushing make a big differece in the shifting also.

What exactly do energy bushings do? ANd what sort of costs are involved in replacing the clutch line?

SS shift line takes about an hour to do...there are two recent threads that detail the install so do a search for them. The bushings take about 10 minutes for the underhood and the console ones take about a half hour due to the ripping apart of the dash. Both are VERY good rather cheap mods.

I don't like getting my hands dirty. Most small auto repair shops will throw it in for $30. They can do it in less than 25 minutes.
