Exclamation

I went to the local car meet in my city last night, and all I see is people stairing. This guy came up to me and said "Dam, you really dropped the back", i said "its factory dropped, I didnt do anything"

that was the highlight of my car night, I left 10mins later. ... im getting to the point where I dont care, cuz I love my car and I bought because in its class, its the best buy. Now it's time for mods, I hope to have my exhaust on by nov21 when SCLC has there meet @ El Cajon Mitsu.

IllicitRalliart, im sorry to hear that other evos are trying to race you all the time. lol its like they're a bunch of bullies!

The RA is a very respectable vehicle IMO. I love the way they look and perform. I wouldn't sweat the opinions of others at a local car meet, nor would i sweat the opinion of a guy driving a civic si...Don't worry about it man, its like playing soccer or any other sport, the only opinion that matters is that of you and your teamates or in this case other owners. Your car is sick, and anyone that doesn't know that is just uneducated. Dirt off the shoulder.

no, you shouldnt. for the price theres faster out there. not better looking, but faster & more respected. which is what your post stated.

i drive an 02 ES. im not really looking for respect..but i sorta get it. i guess. only kus ive dropped a few grand into it. but for me the Lancers, non EVO just dont do it for me anymore..its not a good platform for, HP, 'respect'..etc.

mainly kus i got ripped on the price and should be driving something better. but these cars suck.

Hey guys - I drive an EVO, and while I'm pretty much a "Honda Hater" - or at least I don't like a lot of the @ssbags that drive the loud little farty things - there are SOME, at least here in Jacksonville - that are the real deal - ten and eleven second cars. My evo is bone stock and I'd be really lucky to run the 1/4 in under 14. I have a buddy who's dropped a few grand into his though, and man, it's monstrous.

(Saw a guy in a Z06 run 13 flats like, six times in a row - so being "in the 13's" is fine with me). Once I sell a kidney on ebay, maybe I can get the car into the 12's.

As for respecting, I love the RA's - I test-drove one before I bought the evo and thought it was sweet - nicer than a friend's Spec-V sentra, too...

I guess none of us should be "hatin'" - unless you have a mullet AND a mustang, that's just too much.

Just my .02 for my normally aspirated friends.

Peace.

Imo, you deserve to be made fun of if you try and make your ralliart look like an evol. I'd think that would the most embarassing thing people thinking your car is an evol and they stomp you.

The object is to look slow/stock and stomp them - not be all show and no go

The Civic guy, giving you dirty looks? He drives a Civic! He should be ashamed of himself. The Civic is the ricer car of the world, I would be embaressed just driving one, let alone PAYING for one.

lol... one time I had to drive around in my roommates Civic, a '95 hatch with a kit and a CF hood and just all RICED out to hell (stock 107hp motor too.) I was so embarrased I almost contemplated putting a paper bag over my head.

just to keep it fair, u cant rip onaALL civic owners. some ppl do amazing things /w those cars. they have been taken MUCH further than the ralliart, both NA and FI. Yes, they have attracted a LOT of morons, but what car that is a good platform hasnt? The RA is still new. when they get sold used for under $6k, morons will grab them and throw a 100lb wing on it. its got potential, but not too many have done much with that potential, yet. Until people have a few things to associate our cars with, we wont get respect. But, you can get it for yourself. In my area, everyone knows its not an evo, but my goal is to at least get close to evo performance /wout FI. i got a plan, and when i tell people, they dont doubt it. all the tuners and techs are showing respect and many want piece of the action =)

and yea, i get the 'wow, u really dropped that b1tch!' coment alot, even tho its the stock setup =)

No one around here knows what I got either but they are finding out. Last night a guy in a 1st generation eclips found out what I got. After he got smoked he was asking me if I had a turboed lancer or what it was. He had a 2.0L turbo.

I look at it from the same angle as i do with srt-4's..My friend and I used to cruise around in his when they first came out(before everyone and their babysitter had one) and we would tear it up.moded out tegs, civics, ect, even some people taht couldnt drive too well bmw's,a few vettes, even an evo(16 year old driver..with Rich parents)...Mcdonalds style on their A** pulled away with a smile on OUR face though...
Yeah our cars headlights look similar to the newer civics, and theres even some kinda toyota that looks similar, but when it comes down to it our car will rip it up..Sometimes i wish I woulda bought an srt because there much faster, and woulda been Cheaper in my case..but I look at it as- I got a clean daily driver that atleast isnt mistaken for a neon all day long..
