Ralliarts Paint
Has anyone run into any problems with their paint? I have a black Ralliart and have had to turn it back to the dealer after 900 miles becuase the paint on the roof has begun to chip away
. I have not hit anything and the best thing we could come up with is that it was bird crap (not sure what that bird was eating). Has anybodies paint been chipping a lot and does anyone have any recommendations on how to protect the paint? By the way....i love my Ralliart and truly do miss it!

I've had no problems & drive it alot...
From Chicago to Wisconsin Dells almost every weekend (400 miles)
I've had tree sap, bird crap, tar, etc, etc... So much on there & have not had one problem... I didn't even buy that stuff they try to sell you at dealer like paint protection, etc...
I just wash it once a week...

Sounds like the paint was improperly cured on your roof panel. I know I'm a bit worried about paint quality on this car, since mine has a bunch of overspray on it brand new from the factory!
Got it back from the dealer last night and it looks really great.....sad to say that the paint job on the roof looks a lot better than the rest of the car...the rest of the car looks great....but you know what I mean.

Uh yea... the paint on my car is getting stained and everything, there's blemishes all over it. The dealer tried to cover up some of it with wax and stuff but i didn't bother, i figured i'd get a new paint job sooner or later...

In general, all Lancers have a reputation for having poor paint quality. Even knowing this in advance, I still bought mine 'cause it wasn't the most important thing on my list (performance is my thing). But it sure is crappy... and don't look at the Evo for more quality.
Overall, our paint chips easily, is scratched almost as it comes out of the factory... and I already noticed some discoloration in some places on mine (but red paint will tend to do that on any car in any situation... unless you only drive it at night and park it in the garage the rest of the day).

A good thing to do is get a super detail job done asap after taking delivery of the car. Clay out all the surace garbage, and get it sealed up with some good wax. This should help, but yeah I'm somewhat disappointed by the cheap paint.

But I bashed it up in the accident and so the hood got replaced and painted with a fresh coat of (hopefully) good quality paint.
Now they just need to get my Mitsu triple diamond emblem back on the front and buff out those scratches on the bottom of the bumper. Then it will be all good.
if you have cats in your neighborhood, you will undoubtably learn that cats love to walk on cars at night. Sometimes they fall off, and try to use those sharp little claws to grab at what they can. Usually its your paint..... I've had a couple of those... even polishing and waxing doesn't COMPLETELY eliminate them..
Mine was Decent until I noticed that My Rear Bumper is lighter than the rest of the car and my PAssenger sideskirt is Darker than the rest of the car.. Also Since I got mine back from the body shop after my fender-bender,It never got the chance to cure all the way and a stone hit my car and Scratched my freshly painted hood which now has to be taken in to get repainted in those few spots(2).Not to mention the Rear Bumper and side skirts not matching the car.But those are coming off soon and will be replaced by a bodykit.
