winter Tires anyone?

I was looking into getting some winter tires, I realy just wanted them to stud my stock tires but they can't do that. They checked around and I guess there no tires that can be studed for are rims/car so he looked into some winter tires. he came back with hanook-w400=169.95(each/instal/balance) or perilli-w210=219(each/instal/balance) Well i was kinda shocked, but anyways anyone else looking into winter tires for this car? or any recommendations?

on a side not I have know idea why im buying winter tires, on my 90accord my front tires were bald and drove fine threw the winter, skided alot with rain or ice but just gota master the down shift

I have the Hankooks - in 195/60-15's. Paid roughly 100 bucks each for 'em in that size.

I'm running the Blizzak LM22's as well. Tire Rack sells them for about $135 per tire. They'll mount them on steel wheels for you if you want, as well.

If you're looking for the clostest thing to studded tires, I'd go with the Blizzak WS-50's, they're a bit less expensive and have better heavy-snow traction than the LM22's (which have higher speed ratings)

No snow tires here. Yeah the tires kind of suck in the snow (when don't they suck?) lol.
Just go REALLY slow. Unless I enter a corner REALLY, ridiculously slow, the car understeers. I almost nailed a curb one time (probably 5 inches away from smoking it). I usually use the ebrake to make turns, it is WAY easier than trying to accelerate while turning. The slightest bit of throttle breaks the tires loose.

I am buying the hakkapaletta Nokians this afternoon, they are the BEST rated tire, and if yo do any highway driving like I do, you do not want an all winter tire, the Nokians are a all season , but have a great winter tread, I drive 1200 kms to BC and then back 4+ times a year, and these are the best tire, I'm getting them for $189 each. but i'll be getting our local club price so even cheaper yet. 7 or 8 guys on the lancernation site has them and really back them up, unfortunatley our site is still down, but let me know I may be able to get a good deal for you.
