question about the rrm CAI

after reading several posts i keep seeing that i would have to remove the splash gaurd to install it. i was wondering if it would fit if i wanted to put it back on, or do i HAVE to leave it off for the CAI to fit properly. if i leave the splash gaurd off would it damage my fog light in any way over time? what about the junk coming off the tires?

There's different parts of the splash guard. The splash guard facing the ground stays on. The one that needs to be either removed, or have a hole cut in it (what I did with my injen cai) is the one up inside the engine compartment directly beneath the battery. Unless the RRM one is designed drastically different, you should be able to cut a round hole just big enough to get the CAI tubing into the void, install the filter, then reinstall the lower splash guard.

Yes, I did the same with my RRM CAI - cut a hole in the side of splash gaurd and put everything back.

Tip: if you have a dremel/rotary tool, this makes the cutting extremely easy!

I actually just left a section of the splash guard off. If you look under my car you can see maybe a 6" x 6" piece gone and you can see the filter. It doesn't rain much here, so I think it should be OK.

Dremels/rotary tool is a life saver for cars.. and they're fairly cheap on the market too. Personally i think it's a must for any person who likes to modify their car... I love mines
