Fog Lights

Well i don't know if anyone's having this problem but here it is. I have the stock H3 Foglights that came stock with my car, and didn't like the yellow color the bulbs gave off so i replaced them with some xenon ones... Then one of them blew.. so i bought another set.. and one of those blew.. and then finally i'm on my third set, and finally one of them blew too. I've gone through 3 seperate bulb companies, all of which have some whacked out names. Any suggestions? By the way it's always the left bulb that blows... (Driver side)

My next set are just going to be Sylvania brand bulbs... probably the silverstars if they come in H3. I'm sick of paying 20$ for bulbs that blow in a month.. rather pay $40 for 2 that'll last. But any suggestions as to why the driver side one is the only one that blows?

I'd recommend Sylvania, they seem to last the longest, and probably have some kind of warranty. They do make a H3 silverstar.

If you are going through bulbs that fast, more than likely you are either not putting them in right or you are actually touching the bulb. Another very slight possibility may be the bulb being too high of a wattage. I had H3's in my projectors in my old car and the wattage was so high that it melted the wires. But what I think it is is that you are just touching the bulb, it only takes a minute amount of the oil on your hand to screw the bulb up.
As far as Sylvanias are concerned, and this is just my opinion, but the silverstars really suck. They are maybe a tad whiter than the stock bulbs but barely enough to really recognize. Ive had MANY friends take them back simply because they are hardly any whiter than their stockers.

you must have bad silverstars, because they are so much whiter than stock, you should put one in and compare it against a wall..

Perhaps, however, im only speaking from experience from what I have heard from other people. I have only SEEN them on 3 cars in person and I honestly didnt recognize anything. On my old eclipse forums, everybody said they were terrible. But like I said, im only speaking from other peoples' experience.

like mentioned above, check the wattage, the temp might be a factor, your adding more heat to a higher intense bulb, could be an issue for why they are burning out so quickly, find a lower wattage. Sylvanias are a way to go, cooler temp and lower wattage, may work better, I haven't got around to putting mine in yet but maybe this weekend...

Funny, I had Silverstars in my last two cars, and I loved them. Noticeably whiter and brighter than the bulbs I had in there before. My best friend even noticed the difference, and switched over to them in his Maxima.

I plan on putting Silverstars in my RA soon. I was going to buy them a week ago, but the store I went to was out of stock.

speaking from experience is different than "i heard from this other guy"

if you tried them and had a first hand account, then it's consider an experience

=)

my mechanic biatch at how hard it was to get the h3 bulb into the fog light location (the car was even on the hoist) without touching it.. i think that you are getting your grease paws all over it
