Installed Injen cai, is this right?

Well after 5 weeks i finally recieved my injen cai from Vivid. Anyway I got it installed last night. When i took it for a drive late last night and too work this morn I noticed some wierd sounds. Like before 3500 rpms this is a whistle sound, then after 35k rmps the whistle stops and it begins to roar, i mean it is loud.
It sounds like a tricked out civic with a cherry bomb on it.
is this normal? i hope it didnt blow 230$ to sound like all the kids going past my house with cavaliers and walmart mufflers.
As always, any comments are appreciated

yes, perfectly normal i like the peak around 6k rmp that **** is nice when it starts to roar thats when the intake and the mivec is working at the same time so everything is perfectly fine. But why did it take you 5 weeks to recieve damn it took me 5 days at the most from www.vividracing.com

Good question, vivid was out of stock, then injen i think had to go mine the ore, smelt it, manufacture, polish, then ship it.
Well thats good news being the intake is sounding right. Your right at 6k it roars and has that high pitch whistle, hah almost sounds like a turbo winding up. I wish.
I can definately tell when the mivec kicks in and out, thats pretty cool.
I will have to get someone to go drive it around so i can hear what it sounds like outside the car

Thanks 0L4

yeah, thats another thing i love a lot. When im cruising "saving gas" at like 2-4k rpm it just wistles and ive already had plenty of people ask me if there is a turbo in it and i let them believe what they want i dont tell them what i have or how fast i go. They can find out the hard way

haha, nice. how long did it take you to install and would it be easy to put the stock one back in when taking the car to the dealership?

Cold Air Intake is normally 1 piece longer (Injen/AEM). The Cold Air Intake relocates the Filter outside of the engine bay so it can indeed recieve more colder air and doesn't suffer from engine heat as bad.

Now the short Ram, its a small piece that is usually right beside the engine. although it allows for better air intake than the traditional stock box, it is succeptable to heat soak and doesn't usually get the same numbers at the CAI.

It took me about 2 hours, but i took my time and got about a six pack in me.

You def dont want to remove the bumper, just jack the front driver side, remove the wheel. Tear into the plastic around the wheel well, and under the quarter panel.
You will see where you need to access the frame then.

In all honesty , if i could do it over, i would have stayed stock. Would have my money, and my car wouldnt be annoyingly loud. Maybe im old, or didnt see the **** and furious movie, but i dont like my car sounding like a cavalier with no muffler.

I might be going back to stock, so there may be a injen cai for sale soon.

When you mod a car it will get louder, with power comes noise ask the guys with downpipes. For a person like you an airbox mod would have been better,Better yet a different car. Maybe a Toyota Camry J/k

not that just had to be at work within a hour so i managed my own way of doing it so its not really needed to do all the work you mentioned. why take that long when you can have it on the streets in no time at all
