I've been familiar with the MR2 for awhile but wasn't sure of actual specs. I burned a non-turbo MR2 pretty bad today and I was wondering what the specs were for both Turbo and non-turbo models. I know we drive newer cars but I like to compare our cars to older cars as well. Its not all new cars on the road so its nice to know what you're up against.

 

The turbo is 200hp stock. I think 14's in the 1/4. The NA is 135hp and mid/high 16s. The turbo was my "dream" car back in the 90s, then I saw an old WRX in Barbados and swore I'd buy one if they came to the US... then the Evo came along

 

Thats a pretty big jump from 135 to 200hp. That would explain why I pulled so hard on the MR2 today. Thanks for posting. My friend has a complete woody for the MR2 turbo. They're just not practical though.

 

MR2 turbo would be a nice car to track, but too bad I cant find a decent one for sale in the past 2 years.

 

I have a beat up old 1986 rusty silver non-turbo MR2 5 speed... that reminds me.. i gotta get rid of if
