I have an idea for a new mod

Waiting for my B-spec driver to finish his race, so I was sitting here thinking...

I would love to have a small light or LED that comes on when MIVEC's engaged and then turns off when it's disengaged. The ghetto way would be to set a shift light to light up at 3500rpm, but I'd light something that truly knows when it's engaged.

Would that be difficult to do?

mivec, as exlpained to me is always on, but at a certain point it switches the camprofile to give you more performance, as for a switch for a light to come on it'd be hard to solely base it off mivec, but you can make a tach light come on at certain RPM(when you know mivec is "on") and time it that way

i'm not sure if the ecu has any way to tell if mivec is working or not. else, there may be a machanical way off the engine but i'm talking of which i know nothing. ..

bump for a good question. is this possible???

Like the V-tec is their a soleniod that operated the Mivec on around the top of the head? Then wouldn't you jsut be able to wire in the light to receive the singal when it engages the new cam profile? Just an Idea?

seems pointless to me. just look at the tach.... anyway, the ECU does have a signal to engage/disengage the MIVEC solenoid. I think <1v = off, <5v = on. look up the pin #

Honda's engines are made by cordless phone companies now? Sorry, I had to say it.
On-topic: it doesn't really seem like this mod would have much of a function. To each his own though.
