Ok, ill cut to the chase. I had my FM temp plate tapped to the side of my front bumber a la evo style. Well, I finally got my plate in (different story, posted before), so I take off the temp plate and put on my LP. Around city driving it stayed on no problem. I had to go to santa barbara on personal bussiness (taking the freeway of course), well... I guess the wind won the battle, beause the plate flew off and was left behind on the 210 FWY, granted that FWY is not busy and is 4lanes long, so it didnt hit anybody. What should I do? All the sudden im seeing more and more police now and I know not having a FMLP is illegal in california. If I get pulled over and tell him my "FWY STORY", he won't believe me, he'll see my exhaust and think "street racer, trying to look cool" and will give me a ticket or fix it ticket and that's time/money I don't need/want to waste... im nervous, I don't wanna drive

I have my trunk lp thou, but is that gonna help me?

 

ummm go to the DMV, and order new plates...keep reciept in car for proof

 

run out on the freeway and get your lisence plate and hope that a car doesn't want to play tag with you?

in all reality you should go out to the freeway at night if you think it woudl still be there or maybe it ended up on the side of the road, just go real late at night if you still see it out there, or just call the police if its still out there, they will get it for you im sure.

check your local laws maybe, everyone thought we needed front plates in Ohio, but after extensive searching it was found that we don't need them.

yes, im going to get a new FB plate. Thou, the DMV is closed... its not open on the weekend (only 3rd weekend of the month). I called my mom and told her, she stared yelling @ me... I quote...

"that stupid evo-style is gonna get you a ticket son"

^u should be fine. i've been running no front plate for 8months now. a lot of cars don't even have front plate holders too, and those car aren't required to have front plates. since your car is black you can't even see the plugs so i don't think a cop will hassel you. i always have my front plate in my trunk just in case though.

 

You can always report it "stolen" since you didn't actually take it off yourself. Just make sure you keep a copy of the police report with you since the cops will be pulling you over every 15 minutes I think the only thing you can do is play stupid if you get pulled over and make a huge scene about how you've been fighting to get you FMLP and then someone steals it! etc. It's your only shot untill the DMV opens. On the plus side is you'll get to memorize your new plates they're going to give you!

 

You know what I'd do. I'd make a high quality small sign in the meantime with my liscense plate number and put it in the front window. If you do get pulled over, if they see that, they'll probably believe your story. At least it looked like you tried, you know. Besides, the fine isn't that severe. I've been ticketed for no front plate (in MD) and I had to pay $50.

 

I live in VA, i have my front plate but i never got around to putting it on cause it kills the looks of the front end. I have an evo 8 wing, exhaust, rims etc and still never been pulled over (KNOCK ON WOOD). They have to be real diks to give you a ticket for crap like that, its like why dont they pay closer attention to people who are REALLY putting other people in danger (ie reckless drivers).

 

get your rear plate and put it on your scaner and copy it , and tape it on the front. you should be find until monday.

 

If he does that I want a picture, that'd be very funny.
