RE: Question for anyone with a A/F gauge

I just installed mine (autometer pro comp digital) and it works I THINK...heh.

While the car is running it just pulse's back and forth between lean and stoich (whatever the heck that means..hehe). Is this normal? I thought it would kinda stay in one spot or fluctuate a little if you really tromp on it. I'm just not 100% sure its connected to the right wire.

Actually it's fine. Your light will fluctuate back and forth to accomodate for the air. The only time you will see it stay in one spot is when you pin it down. Then it should go into the red and stay there until you ease up. Then it's back to the fluctuation. Good luck with that light show, it gets annoying after a while.

^ What he said. It's hooked up correctly, and the constant fluctuation is just the way they work. Stomp on it and it should sit pretty still, though. Once you let off, it'll go back to what it was doing.

If you had added an O2 sensor and gauge to an older, carbureted vehicle, then it wouldn't change all the time like that. It's just the nature of computer-controlled fuel injection.
