good news for RA guys

i dont know if this has been brought up before but, i was reading my turbo mag and in the back they did a review of the 05 eclipse and by the numbers that they gave out it looks like its going to have a 2.4 liter mivec in the lesser model and a v6 in the gt. They said it has a 2.4 with 162 hp and 162 tq. So this is kinda good news for us because im sure alot of the parts are going to swapable. So with that said more companies will make more things for our cars. well thats all i gotta say about this

This will be cool as long as a lot of the younger crowd goes for the cheaper 2.4 Eclipse. That will be the key in getting parts. If it is only bought by people that are not into the mod scene (i.e. college girls that are only buying the car cuz it makes them look pretty) then there wont be the demand for parts.

Either way I see our parts selection growing significantly in the next coupel years with Mitsu using the Mivec in more and more of their cars. I tell you what, my girl has the Outlander and for it being a compact suv that thing is pretty fun to drive and I blame in all on the Ralliart's engine.

I own an 04 2.4L eclipse GS as well as my RA and its not quite as quick as the RA. given its an auto (my gf's), but the sportstronic trans lets you stay in the powerband pretty well. still a bit sluggish for me. they dont sell the one /w the 2.4L mivvec 4g69 yet, though. not for a few more months. when its offered along /w the galant RA /w the 4g69, thats when we should start to see the flood =)

My best friend has a white 2000 eclipse GS. It most certainly is not faster than our cars. It feels the same but lacks the mivec kick that mine has. We've never raced but both of us has came to the same conclusion that mine is faster. The eclipse is definitely heavier and lacks mivec.

And why would you be surprised. We have a 2.4L engine and our cars are lighter.
