Mid Pipe Question

Hey guys... I just wanted to ask you guys a question...
I've got a RRM Down Pipe & RRM Axle Back exhaust... Now...
When I was down there last doing the mechanical O2 fix I noticed my mid-pipe's pretty rusty!!!
Thanks Chicago winters... I know that we've got SS exhaust from factory, but I was wondering if you guys think it'd be a good idea to invest in a mid-pipe like the one from Ultimate-Racing, or if I'm just worried about something that's not that big of a deal...
It's rusty now, but it's not like it's got any holes in it or anything, but that's what I'm worried about...
Input please!?

Thanks in advance!!!

Mine is the same way I noticed recently. The steel is too thick to rot away or anything, so I wouldnt worry about it.

not a big deal, but i dont think the factory pipe is stainless. my factory midpipe and axleback are sitting in my closet so i can look at it any time i want. if its stainless, its the most stained stainless i ever saw

you are safe for a few winters, but salt will pay is toll. when you replace, do it in true full stainless and you will only have to do it once.

true, its not a big deal at all. You should never have to touch it actually while you own the car. Its gonna take a lot more than road salt and grime and crap to really destroy it. My sister's accord's midpipe looks the same way, and she has 78 thousand on it, nothing to worry about.

Isn't the Ultimate Racing midpipe 2.5 inch? The DP and the Axelback are 2.25 inch. Will it bolt up correctly without modification?

Yeah, it'll bolt up. No need to worry, though, it'll take years and years for the salt to eat through your midpipe.

****, sorry still learning. That's kinda useless I think to buy a new mid-pipe with the same diameter (your cause makes sense, the salt) but for anyone one else its just to upgrade to better metal (stainless) and no hp gains.
