Im Pissed! 1/4 mile

Im mad as hell! Last night I took the car to the drag strip with disastrous results:

First off , I got there late....about 9:30 pm, at the same time they finish inspecting my car and get set to go to the pits, a messages indicates that some dude fell from a bike, nothing serious, just fell while launching. So they stop the operations for about an hour. At that time I finally set up at the tree, stage.

1rst Pass

15.67 @ 87.8

.520 RT

2.3 60 feet

10.0 1/8 mile @ 71.2 mph

2nd Pass I missed 4th.......... 15.7 @ 87.76

And I have the Injen Cai....How come my times suck so much

Funny thing, after leaving the track I raced a Civic HB that was running 15.0 and I beat it three times...wtf?

Can someone shed light and tell me WTF I did wrong?
I was shifting at redline, launched pretty decently, shifting nice and fast

that would help alot, but there have been people on the boards who where pulling of low 15's with just intake or just an exhaust. It's really a driver's thing.

you gatta remember to quadrupple clutch and tighten all the painted green bolts and washers under your dash so your floor doesnt fall off mid race. Then you'll win by an inch... or a mile

Your attempt at being funny is seriously lacking.

Salinas or Tuque? take it to the other side to Carolina and see if is the track...if you are running goodyears...(Ese es el problema mano!) change those ! im running Pirelli Pzero and my car is way better...(an automatic sportback ralliart) is launching like a rocket now...i got a few of my Car club buddies kinda mad cause i can launch faster now than some of them(cars that i wont mention names but come with 175hp,210hp, 160hp,180,190, 227hp..240...some of you can figure it out.

Just keep practicing...The times will come to you but get better tires after your stocks burn off and that should help alot too.

how fast you think you should be bud?

I mean anything in the 15s for raliart is good. You wont see the 14s with your car, you need a turbo

Cut that 60' time down some, man. 2.3 is on the verge of horrible. Every tenth you can shave off the 60' will cut roughly 2 tenths off your 1/4 mile ET. I cut regular 2.1's on street tires aired down to 26 psi, and 2.0's on my BFG DR's aired down to 19psi (although they are really meant to be aired down to around 14 psi, I'll try that next time.) So cut a 2.1 60', and be rewarded with a time closer to 15.3-ish, maybe even a 15.2.
