My car: 04 Ralliart Manual
Mods: RRM Cai, RRM Downpipe, Catback exhaust with magnaflow 3in tip, Progress Springs.

Supposedly this guy thinks hes runnin at like 300 hp. One of those, turbo is all you need guys. He has nothing else, not even turbo exhaust. Now i have (and so have many of you others) SPANKED auto v6's multiple times. So im wonderin if maybe i can take this "Turbo" Stang also. . . Im goin into this race wth the mentality that ill lose, cause you never know. Gimme feedback ladies. . .
If he's telling the truth about the 300 horse (but I doubt it) then he will beat you. As for the intake manifold, if he got a turbo, he had to replace his intake manifold, so that makes no effing sense. And it seems he doesn't understand automatics.
1. You CANNOT change the ratios without physically changing the planetary gearsets.
2. The chip may change the shift RPM and shift quality (higher and firmer shifts, but that won't do much in a race. An auto shifts at redline at WOT, so a chip won't do anything).
He may have a new torque converter though, which raises the RPM that the car starts moving. If he does have a high stall converter, he may beat you even with slight mods (the torque converter is what slows autos down).

I know for a fact hes not at 300hp. Thanks for the info, i thought it odd that he believed a chip could change ratios. This is a look on a brighter side of things. . . tomorrow cant come soon enough!

I thought i remember seein someone post that they have taken Auto v8's. I was figuring that if he had turbo v6 that it would put it at about the same with the v8 cause comeon, a plain old turbo wont give you more than what, 40hp?

Are you sure he even has a turbo? There's plenty of people around here running around claiming they have mods like that when they really just have those turbonator things welded into their exhausts. He sounds unintelligent enough (chip to change gear ratios???) to the point where he'd be BS'ing you. Race him. You've got nothing to lose.

The guy does sound like he's full of BS but if he does have any sort of legit turbo, you're in for a tough race. Still, theres no shame in this. Don't bet any money but go out, race him and have a good time. We're rooting for you, let us know how it goes.

Um, lets use some common sense here. He has a turbo. You have a downpipe and a cai. Even if he is auto, with that power, he will beat you. This isnt a hard one. But then again, the guy could be full of it.

turbo v6 stangs are not something to mess with with a NA 4cyl. if he has any turbo, he will beat u. a stock v6 stang is about an even match /w an RA. a turbo v6 stang should kill us. the mustangs love the 'chip' as well. think of it as a full ecu flash, rev/governer elim all in one (and a well-done flash at that). ive seen v6 stangs gain over 25hp to the wheel after chip swaps, and ive raced to nearly identical 2001 v6 auto stangs, but one was chipped and he kicked my *** (i beat the other by about .2 seconds).

however, most people wont even bother turbo'n a v6 stang. if they guy is as dumb as you make him out to be, hes probably not boosted

Full boost means that the leaf blower is at full throttle. Anybody who's worth their snot in the car world knows that.

I had a v6 and did a lot of research on turbo's when they first started releasing them for the newer models and some ppl had some quick v6 stangs. biggest problem I would see would be not having posi. Im almost positive he woulda walked all over you. The power we get out of some of out bolt ons is kinda depressed compared to some of the other cars I've been reading on lately :\
