This is purely speculative, but I wonder if the difference comes more from different shaped people or same shaped people with different preferences.
I do find them very comfortable too... but I'm also skinny as hell (5'8", 130lbs) Is there a pattern here?

Well, I can't see why the motors wouln't run on 12v (but do a check to be sure)... so just tap into an empty slot on the interior fuse box and run the current to the seats (using a fuse in between, of course!).

Those seats are actually built pretty good. I got some from the same seller. Check out my ride. I have the ones that are embroidered with RALLI///ART. They are very comfortable. So far I've had them since christmas and love them.. all my friends love them too. They hold you in place perfect and have plenty of padding. No problems what-so-ever. They recline and slide forward/backwards. Thats all you need.

Did the Ralliart seats require brackets? I love their look and contemplated getting them...

Here we go, another seat question, im 5'8 210 (12 percent body fat ) and I have tenzo rally seats, They are great. As far as long trips are concerned, (ie, over 2.5 hours long) i wouldnt trust them. I sat in them from Va to SC and my back was so stiff it took me 15 minutes of stretching just so I could get the blood flowing back down there again. But seriously, if its under two hours, they are the best. Ive never sat in a seat before that holds you in so tight. If you want a review, type in tenzo rally type seats in the search menu, i made a post about them. If you want pics, look at page 3 of the link in my sig. Oh, and about those seats, daddymac on here owns some no brand name ones and he likes them.

Off topic- theres some SCRAWNY A$$ people on this site! I weighed what half of you weigh when I was in 6th grade.
