I'd definitely trade in my RA Wagon for an EVO one if it came to Canada

Hello..this is an "Illustration" of the Evo Wagon that is floating around the net.

http://www.drive.com.au/editorial/ar...x?id=2276&vf=1

"Like Audi's RS4 - recently released in Australia - and Subaru's 5-door WRX, the bulkier Evo will be a wagon with performance car credentials.

Autoexpress quotes Mitsubishi insiders as saying prototype wagons are being tested at the car maker's secret test track in Tokyo. It also says the Evo wagon could get a 186kW 1.8-litre version of the Evo VII's 209kW 2-litre turbo engine.

Acceleration is said to be brisk, with the 0-60mph (96km/h) sprint taking around 5.5 seconds, and top speed electronically set at the obligatory 250km/h."

I am happy that is doing better now! So maybe we will get the Evo Wagon later in the USA market.

I would buy that if it had the same hp as the Evo. It isnt any different than a WRX station wagon. But then again the Ralliart wagon didnt do too well on sales, which is why mitsubishi pulled it from the lineup.

Hmmm... Evo Wagon

I'd drive it. ONLY if it was a 5-sp, no auto for me!!! I think it'd look pretty tight slammed on Volks or something.

If Mitsu wants to get out of the Red .... they need to design a Practical RWD car before Nissan comes out with it's new Turbo'd 2.5l RWD.... well not even beat it out but they gotta do something.

If Mitsu came out with a RWD in the 20-25k Range... and it had decent power? That thing would be a tuners dream being the only car from japan to be made RWD currently is the 350Z

Personally I'd give my soon to be wife our banana-mobile and pick me up the evo wagon. Since it seems us north americans are mainly a bunch of hillbillies and we like our trucks and SUV's so much, I doubt it if the sportback will make it back to us in any form, evo or not, any time soon.

I hope Mitsu at least brings the colt to us for this coming year as I know we'd like to pick one up as a second car. They really need a true small economy car to compete better here. Even a lancer ES isn't exactly a gas miser. I really don't understand the truck thing these Jap companies are getting into with gas prices going up so much. Are truck sales really THAT good that they see this as a growing market?? How about something really cool like a high performance hybrid AWD lancer with an electric motor in every wheel. Call it the Lancer THHC (tree huggin hippie crap) hehe

As for GM in trouble, serves the buggers right after what they did to companies they used to control and destroyed on purpose such as Isuzu. Funny how its isuzu who hold the cards now in their dealings. Isuzu and Mitsu btw are in a partnership and last I heard Mitsu was the largest shareholder in Isuzu at about %12. Nothing like the ~47% GM had but is a good investment since Isuzu is makin money hand over fist. Hopefully this good fortune will rub off onto Mitsu a little more so they can afford to throw us even more cool toys from their JDM toybox.

there's my incoherent babble for the day ;-)

Mitsu should really consider a RWD. That'd be pretty cool. But considering Mitsu doesn't specialize in RWD it's unlikely. I say they just copy Scubby and make their whole line AWD. Return of the VR-4 Galant. And I also hear rumors of a new 07 GSX Eclipse? Anyone wanna confirm the Eclipse cus that intrigued me. A co-worker was talkin bout it. Yeah.....RWDriver or SOMETHING to compete with the others in JP.... Good job so far tho. Hope they keep it up. lol

Yea it'd be sweet to have the GSX back. Even though Mitsu doesn't specialize in RWD, if they did enough R&D they could even make It cheap and compete with Mustangs/350Z and what not and that would generate alot of revenue.

That evo wagon look more like a mini-suv (close to Forester ). About an Evo coupe? That would be awesome.
